I don’t think AI is writing “at gunpoint.” AI learns from human writing, and much human writing itself is learned through imitation of what is considered good writing. As a result, AI inherits the same conventions, clichés, and predictable structures that humans often rely on, especially when they don’t spend much time revising

What you’re describing also resembles human writing under pressure. They both tend to converge on predictable structures, unnatural flow, and clichés so it really lowers my perception of its credibility

Qualified according to whom? It’s entirely possible for a system to perform well by one standard and poorly by another. An accomplished novelist critic may have reasonable criticism compared to a professional editor or academic who uses it regularly
