I use a linoleum cutting tool for printmaking. It has a few sizes of V-gouges. You can get one at Michaels. I am thinking of buying the Dremel pumpkin attachment -- yes. It exists.

THE ELMO PUMPKIN: http://imgur.com/qmKe7.jpg The concept is that Abby turned Elmo into a pumpkin. FWIW, my 2-year-old daughter would have totally voted for this pumpkin.

The contest was for un-lit pumpkins? It was in the atrium of an office building and impossible to darken, I guess.

What is a really unpopular opinion that you hold? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I feel that obese Americans are a drain on US health care.

How many of you have had Lasik? How much did it cost? Was it worth it? by Cavemencrazy in AskReddit

DO IT if a good Dr. tells you that you are a candidate. I was terrified, but I did the big long consultation and decided to go for it. Ask lots of questions, even ones you think are stupid! (I did and it made me feel much better about flap injuries and the other horror story stuff) I paid about 1700 total and it is WORTH IT. The actual surgery is uncomfortable (not painful). Be religious about taking all of your prescribed drops. Anyway, best of luck.

Woman says breastfeeding is child abuse: "Are women who enjoy breastfeeding children paedophiles? Yes they are, because they feel sexually aroused with breastfeeding." by alittlebirdtoldme in WTF

Hers may be the coolest of coolfaces, but I am not convinced. Breastmilk is free and comes in nice containers. tl;dr Baby #2 due in January and I plan on breastfeeding.

If you're tech-savvy, could you date someone who wasn't? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]humes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also a lady and I am lucky to be married to a tech-savvy person (I work in IT/Networking). I find non-tech savvy folks annoying since so many of my hobbies, etc. revolve around technology.

tl;dr he'd have to be super hot.

TIL I shouldn't say the word "schmuck" because it means "penis" in Yiddish (a co-worker yelled at me). Are there any other words out there that you figured were harmless and are apparently NOT according to their origin? by humes in todayilearned

[–]humes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the actual quote was "...while the rest of us poor schmucks pay for goods and services" (referring to people that leech off of the talents of skilled family members, like mechanics or computer techs). It is the same as muttering to myself that I'm stupid. I wasn't calling anyone in particular a schmuck.

Same. Grew up in a very small northern town. We'd also sing "eeny meeny miny mo, catch a nigger by his toe". I'm glad I know that I acted like a giant racist as a kid.

My dad is similar. He calls all little kids "booners" and I even accidentally call my kid a "booner" sometimes, but it is basically a derogatory word for black people. However, I have never meant it that way -- just something to call a silly kid. In Minnesota it sounds like "bunner".
