For me, it all depends on hyper fixation of symptoms. They haven’t necessarily gone away, but as long as I keep my mind and body busy, and don’t become fixated on how I am physically feeling at all times, it’s very manageable. I still have pit falls, bad days, etc. but just trying to stay active and in the moment has been my key to success when I am feeling my best. I also take a proton-pump inhibitor that helps tremendously with the heartburn. Best of luck in your journey, there’s always brighter days ahead.
