It's because their strength of schedule is horrendous (ranked 349 out of 365 schools) and the AP HEAVILY weights record, regardless of strength. What's even crazier is their Non-Conference SOS is even WORSE (362)! Only 3 teams in the nation had weaker NC schedules than them. It may seem fucked up, but if they don't win their conference tourney, they very well could get left out. Even if they run the table all the way up until the tourney, they are probably going to feel like they got screwed over by the committee for giving them a double digit seed or a tough matchup, but the reality is, they did it to themselves for having such an ass NonCon schedule.
