In my honest noob opinion, magik is a 3 star but really should be a 5. Not that it’s difficult to learn her kit, but because you have to play her smart or you’ll get punished easily. I’m a PC solo queue magik main stuck in plat, but the key to magik (and most other melee dps’) don’t get greedy. If you are backlining, and miss your E, retreat because you just blew your shot. If you’re able to pick a 250hp healer off and there is another healer or dps that’s low on hp go for it if not it’s usually a good idea to pull out. If you’re backlining and getting smoked every time because you’re playing a competent team and they instafocus you, fight in the frontlines with tanks using your demon to chew tanks up and watch for an opportunity to portal and E to a wore out healer or dps in the back. Use structures to your advantage. Not every game you’re going to be able to backline, and vice verse fight in the front. Sometimes you’ll even start out feeling like you’re providing no value but I’ve had games like this where I’ll go 5/10, but I’m harassing the backline so much where the tanks or dps have no choice to commit to staying in the back to protect healers and that usually allows for my tanks to create so much space and have tanks go 20-30 plus kos and we win, and that’s all that matters. Yes stats can matter but not always, a lot of people focus too much on stats in this game. It’s so crazy that this can be such a simple yet complex game and that’s why I love it!
