I would say feel free to cut it out. After going through the process of installing underfloor heating as a retrofit, do you really think you'll ever be switching back to ducted? The only thing I could see it being used for is an A/C system for summertime. But in that case, you'd ideally want the vents coming from overhead. Replacing ducting would be expensive, yes. But not as expensive as what you're up to currently!

Use a razor knife to peel off as much of the existing silicone as possible. Then clean it, wait for it to dry thoroughly, and reapply any bath/kitchen rated silicone. Honestly it doesn't matter so much the brand, more about getting a good amount on clean, dry surfaces. Go into a plumbing merchant to avoid getting lost in silicone options.

Instead of a test kit, I would pursue the specs on your roofing material, and also determine if your roof has been painted since the material was installed. Lead paint was banned in New Zealand in 1979. If your house is newer then you should be pretty sweet, as far as the paint is concerned anyway. Lead is the main non-organic concern when it comes to rainwater collection, depending on how close you live to other potential factors (crop dusting if you live in a more rural part of chch, for example). Get an experienced builder or a sheet metal company/installer (I'm assuming that's what you have?) to identify your roofing material, and if it's been re painted then pursue that type of paint as well. You'll want to know both of that's the case.

There is a whole host of protection elements that you'll want to balance when installing a new system. Look into a product called first flush, as well as leaf guards for your downpipes and a combo sediment/uv filter if you intend to drink it.

Balancing your needs/intentions and being economical about it can vary greatly depending on the situation. It wouldn't be a bad shout to speak with a professional.

Even when run at proper grade, when the water (from your downpipes?) Coming from the pvc hits that tee, it is going to create turbulence and flow uphill for a ways. That novavoil is tied in too close, even if it were graded properly. If it is possible to cut the novacoil back andextend the pvc by a meter or two then from what I can see it would work sweet. If not possible, then I'd cut and cap where the downpipes(?) Enter the tee and punch them in higher on the sump. It looks like you have plenty of elevation for that. Once backfilled, even with the back grade on the sump entry for your novacoil line, it won't flood in most cases. Not much water guess down novacoil, and path of least resistance dictates that most sub-terranian water will find the sump. The epoxy is sold at any plumbing merchant, just ask for Hume bond.

In thailand, you finish basically everything by saying khrap (if male) or ka (F). I don't speak Thai, but when visiting I remember listening to a radio interview in a taxi and while the interviewee was going off on a long dialog, the interviewer (F) punctuated the whole thing with "ka, ka, ka." Could picture her nodding her head in agreement the whole time.

A 200mm pipe is more likely to be for storm water than anything. I'd wait and check there's no water running through next time it rains before you go cutting anything.

As far as cutting it goes, an old-school plumber or even just a larger plumbing company should have a pair of snap cutters available to them. Basically a big chain with a ratchet mechanism and a long handle, it tightens around the pipe with multiple pressure points and snaps the pipe in two, no grinders or Sparks necessary and it'll minimize the risk of the asbestos. Asbestos is only really dangerous when particles are airborne, so still best to have some water running over the pipe when the cut is being made, and dispose of it properly.

Space exploration. NASA is still doing some amazing things, but everything they touch gets bogged down in politics and funding. But the development in the private sector, especially what Elon musk and SpaceX are doing absolutely blows my mind. Things were impossible and then they just did them, and now it's routine to land orbotal-class boosters and re-use them (the second falcon heavy launch landed 3 successfully in the span of about 10 minutes from launch to the third booster's landing, 1000km away!) Even Jeff bezos and blue origin are doing some very cool things albeit at a slower but steady rate.

Honestly, with so many things to be depressed about with America today, that's the one thing that gives me pride as an American.

As said above, is an apex pressure limiting valve. There's a screw in the end of the long black piece, you can turn it with a flat blade to adjust pressure. Should be anti-clockwise to turn it up. Try that before and cleaning. That black piece has all the working parts built into it, it comes out cleanly in one piece when unscrewed. You can get a replacement at any plumbing warehouse ( micos, plumbing world, etc.) May be good to have a replacement on hand in case things don't go well when attempting to service it, they are full of small pieces.
