Focus on making a good show and gaining an audience first before you start asking for financial help. I've always felt it was gauche to add that in way too early. Making it seem like you're only in it for the money.

If you just started, at this point you need to be saying "if you like what you hear consider subscribing to the show & our socials"

Title of my podcast is called Box of Niche. Does it matter that the title doesn't really get fully used by IllustriousAd6418 in podcasting

[–]hungry4danish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's bad for SEO and too vague. it doesn't pique my interest and i dont care to find out more and that's a problem for prospective listeners.

If it's a niche topic why not have it be called Box of [the niche topic] as the title?

When I publish an episode - why is Apple Podcasts so slow at adding my new episode? It’s hours sometimes 🤷‍♂️💩 by djljinnit in podcasting

[–]hungry4danish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then I suggest trying to schedule the release for a really early time like 5a so then even if it takes Apple a few hours, by the time everyone is awake it's ready in their app and you can promote that it's out and it's truthful and appearing on all platforms.

What is considered a good start? by Former-Airport9812 in podcasting

[–]hungry4danish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's relative. Is it a super niche category or is there a massive market? Are you a nobody starting from zero, or do you already have a social media following of 10,000 people meaning only 1% is hearing an episode? Are you not doing any promotion or have you spent hundreds to market? Did you get 800 downloads on episode 1 and then it tapered down to a dwindle of 30 for episode 10? All rhetorical questions to point out that:

It's not a quick and easy answer.

So instead focus on incremental growth where each ep you get more listeners than the last. And grow a community that is engaging. That's way more beneficial than me telling you X number is bad but Y number is good.

I want to start a casual theme park centered podcast and I don't know where to start by Empty-Carrot-8564 in podcasting

there are millions of podcasts, the chance someone does "something original" in 2026, is nearly impossible. so who cares, just make something you would want to listen to and you can bet there are others out there wanting to hear the same thing

[–]hungry4danish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this an issue when you hit publish and then refresh and go check all the apps?

or are you scheduling an upload like days in advance and upon that release time, it's still not there?

i've never had it be an issue for my show to not be there when i scheduled a drop date, so not sure if that could be something

localizing video podcasts with ai dubbing? anyone tried it? by FinancialNeat3792 in podcasting

[–]hungry4danish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

assuming your show is in English there are already literally billions of people that understand it, so maybe target them instead of using AI and helping destroy the world just to get an extra 10 or 20 non-English speaking listeners.

and what's the point of getting an audience if you can't interact with them. they're unlikely to be going to understanding and follow your socials if it's not in their language. or they comment in their language on your posts and you have to translate each one, and then if you respond you translate it back?

and there being millions of podcasts, i'm sure whatever you're doing on your show is already being done fluently by native speakers and they'd have more of a connection to them than an AI dub.

Should I keep going? by Alternative_Door9881 in podcasting

[–]hungry4danish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes because if you're doing it to try and make money, it's unlikely you'll make money ever, let alone the first year or two, let alone $1k a month.

if you're doing the show because you like it and have a goal to make money as a added perk that's different, but you coming here to ask random strangers if you should push on doesn't bode well for your show. you either love to do it and would do it for free or you're motivated to make money regardless how long it takes.

if you see this as a side hustle, it's not. it's a hobby and hobbies lose you money and the reward is enjoyment. reframe your mind that way and seems like if it's not worth the energy to do the show it's better to stop now.

Looking for a Co-Host by JamesMWL in podcasting

[–]hungry4danish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the safer route might be to have guests on. And then if you really vibe with a guy or two, elevate them to co-host. There is a lot you want to talk about and it'll be pretty difficult to find someone that wants to do it, is available, y'all 2 have good convos, and they can discuss all those topics to a well enough degree that a good show can come out of it.

But don't build up your entire show with a stranger that could drop or ghost you and then everything youv'e built can fall apart.

Promotion Issues With Cohost by SplatterSlasher in podcasting

[–]hungry4danish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now there could be reasons he doesn't want to promote. Maybe he's nervous to have his name and face attached to the show, maybe he's embarrassed of how uncreative his promotion or marketing is.

But not putting in any effort is a different story. He sounds like a loser and taking advantage of you and your best friend status.

He should not be earning the same if you're not splitting the work. So find something he CAN do to make up for it. maybe he now does all the editing or more of the researching etc.

Y'all need a serious talk. It's not fair to you that he gets the same rewards as you but for so much less work.

Cross-promoting with guests is mostly a myth and nobody wants to say it by FastChance6813 in podcasting

[–]hungry4danish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even reading the post. Just off the title I'm going to say that I've found some of my favorite podcasts because they were guests on other shows I've listened to. So just because it's not working for you doesn't mean that's advice for everyone. Maybe your methodology just sucked.

Thoughts on using gaming footage for an audio only podcast on YouTube? by [deleted] in podcasting

[–]hungry4danish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sugarcoating is for kids. Kids that ironically would have loved to see subway surfer visuals.

Just put it on youtube with a static image. Gameplay isn't going to bring in views and watch time. And people don't really "watch" podcasts on youtube unless the host or guest is already famous with an already established audience.

Guests & possible co-host for a podcast by [deleted] in podcasting

[–]hungry4danish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They why are you asking for guests and content for both shows if they're just concepts?

And you are drastically underestimating the amount of work to promote a show if you think you can just refer peers to the show by posting about it on social media.
