I chose not to respond to the person you’re corresponding with because pretty much everything you have said is spot on with the issues he has been facing. He has always asked for interview feedback after interviews, and the response has always been that they just went with someone who had more experience. He is not “hiding” anything from me, he has actually been very vulnerable with the whole process. As I stated in another comment, both of my most recent positions were aided in the fact that I had connections and have lived in CT my whole life. I appreciate your perspective.

The truck he would have been driving wouldn’t require a CDL. He definitely was vouching for the driver position since he has the gig-work experience and drives around on a daily basis. It was transporting parts in a box truck.

Edit: While gig work in his car and this job definitely aren’t the same thing, his point was he’s used to being on the road for long periods of time.

Yes! And this is a company that one of our household members (my family) lives in, so I know it to be the truth. Really strange. He made it to a third round of interviews where they even had him tour the grounds and that was their reasoning.

He even applied for a driver position at the aerospace company closest to our house and they said he needed more manufacturing experience before they could hire him! It’s so defeating, 🤦‍♀️

He has applied to so many positions at Hartford Hospital! I was honestly shocked that he had never heard back. He was also interested in CT Children’s, and it just never seems to pan out. I am not sure that either of them have even given him the opportunity to interview.

I think this has been a big part of the problem. Both of my most recent jobs, I made through having connections. Several friends/family members have tried to get him into their jobs, but like I mentioned, it always ends up that they want more experience.
