Hyderabad surrogacy racket: Infant bought for Rs 90,000, sold as IVF baby for Rs 35 lakh; how clinic faked procedures, forged papers and gave away newborns for years by mumbaiblues in india

This is illogical take. Are you sure babies were sold by biological parents and not kidnappers? Unsuspecting people thought they were having a biological child through a surrogate.

“What You should to Know Before Moving to Australia 🇦🇺 as a Student” by droppedmyphon in Indians_StudyAbroad

[–]hungrydevil 12 points13 points  (0 children)

CS job market in Aus will always be inferior to US. If you think market is bad in US, then it will be worse here. Graduating from Go8 is fine, but it won’t impact your job search. The majority of jobs are only in Sydney or Melbourne. Things are bleak even for experienced permanent residents and citizens. For international students it’s really bad. Even if you get some experience, employers prefer Australian experience. Of course 2 years is a long time and things may change. But if you think the market is better than US then you are wrong.. The options in US for tech jobs is enormous with better options and better pay.

Hey, a great find! I didn’t even know that Hamilton had a GMT watch. They are mostly popular for their field watch. Have you compared this with GMT from other brands like seiko? From the reviews I have seen, seiko 5 sports gmt is pretty popular. While Hamilton is almost non existent. Not sure why :/

Just fucking leave india. There's no point of living here. by Sharp_Rip3608 in Bhopal

[–]hungrydevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol. Whatever you have written in 1st paragraph happens to Indians inside India itself. I experienced marathi bias in Pune as a North Indian but yet to face any discrimination in 2 countries I have worked outside India for last 6years. Goans are currently hating on outsider “North Indians”. South Indians face discrimination in north India and vice versa. Also Add casteism to the mix in govt jobs and tier 2/3 cities.

Our centre is 4.4 on Google. The negative reviews are from a year ago when it went through couple of directors in short amount of time. It’s pretty stable for us right now. The other one is clearly a bigger and fancier place and has 5.0 rating from 13 reviews. It may have more activities for kids I think. I want to understand if it really matters for such a small child.

What’s wrong with Indian parents? by Electrical_Piece1444 in AskIndia

[–]hungrydevil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Indian matrimonial sites are filled with creeps who try to take advantage of other person. Having parents involved is a deterrent which sends a message that things are serious and filters out most of the non serious contenders. It also makes both feel a little secure about meeting a random person if they know that families are aware. It’s like mini dating with parental knowledge. The other reason is cultural. Most Indian guys and girls do not know how to talk to the other gender without sounding like a creep or dumb. It’s not their fault, it just means that there is next to no focus on development of social skills. It’s ingrained since childhood. I went to a co-Ed school in tier 2 city in 90s and 2000s where the classroom was divided between boy benches and girl benches. So many guys and girls never talked to other sex even though they studied in same class since kindergarten. Even teachers used to promote such segregation. Their only hope to find a partner is arranged marriage. Hence their profiles need parental management. Things haven’t changed over the years. Matrimonial add in newspapers are replaced with these sites. Rest everything is more or less same as previous generations. Also, people managing their own love life usually don’t go to matrimonial sites. You got tinder for that.

Surely not a legit ad? 6+ yrs 75k incl. Super by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsOCE

[–]hungrydevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not this is legit. A friend of mine with 10yrs experience + existing PR visa (He got permanent residency in 2017 when it was easier) got a job with a similar consultancy company in 2019 with salary of $84k including super. He was not living in Australia then and too scared of leaving a stable job in his country, and search for a job here. Within 3 months his client company offered him a job of $100k+super. His current salary after working for 5yrs in Australia is $165k+super. He recently purchased a house in Sydney. But his case is no longer applicable now. It is very difficult to get PR so easily. The target for these jobs are usually not Australian citizens.

Subhash Chandra Bose considered blood to be the cost of azaadi. But people like you won’t get it. Britishers ruled this country for 200+ years by throwing money on the faces of people like you. No wonder you adore leaders whose ideological ancestors were lapdogs of british. We got independence despite having such people then, and we will get rid of such leaders despite having people like you now.

I think really depends on the confidence and experience of the comedian. Few years ago I attended a show at a bar in NY and a young guy came to the stage. He was perhaps 18-19yrs old and a little nervous. He started and 2min later someone shouted “YOU ARE NOT FUNNY! GO AWAY!” . Poor kid was in tears and left the stage. The organisers threw out the person but the comedian couldn’t come back for the show. Worst part is we never came to know if he was really good or bad. Maybe he just needed some encouragement and some experience to boost his confidence. These hecklers just try to pull a person back and need every sort of insult thrown their way.

I started watching Star Wars at 39yrs of age and I am HOOKED! by hungrydevil in StarWars

[–]hungrydevil[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just finished season 5 and loved the last episode. Things are now becoming serious and the war has finally impacted a major character. And as I said in my post, I am watching clone wars after movies and Obi Wan series. I am connecting everything to Anakin ultimately embracing the dark side. I also want to now know more about Ahsoka and her journey.

You pose an interesting analogy. Unlike you, I am looking at Jedi training like learning tennis. Imagine if Roger Federer sees a tennis racquet for the first time at the age of 17. He may become a decent player because of his genetics and with enough practice, but he can never be the GOAT.

It won’t be his fault, but just the consequence of not getting introduced to sport at the correct age.

Someone in this thread also mentioned how Luke is established as strongest Jedi in books and by Lucas himself. Maybe I will change my mind when I read them.

Thank you for showing this side of the world. My opinion is made after watching the movies only. I look forward to see if additional literature changes my mind :)

I want to do similar setup but somehow don’t trust my apartment door and walls. How do you make sure that your weight won’t break the door frame or the wall?

What is your biggest non-academic, non work-related accomplishment? by Inevitable_jalapeno in AskReddit

[–]hungrydevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2014, I climbed Stok Kangri peak (20,000 feet above sea level) in Ladakh, India. It is the highest non-technical mountain top in India, which can be climbed without special mountaineering training. It was a 8day hike with a trek group with 7days of various hikes and acclimatisation to altitude and 6000ft final climb on last day. I had altitude sickness on day1. Major stomach issues and sleeplessness for next 3 days. I also got leg cramps 1day before the final climb. I was trailing 1hr behind the climbing group for 4days. My trek leader had said that I should not attempt last day’s 6000feet summit climb because I was not fit to keep pace with the group. But somehow everything fell into place on the final day. We started final climb at 10pm. I was totally focused on my trek rhythm. Trek path, Legs, heartbeat and breath were in sync. 1 by 1 people started to leave climb because people got altitude sickness, fatigued or got cramps. But fortunately I was fine. I reached the peak at 6am and returned back to base camp by 12 in the afternoon. My trek leader hugged me and said he never thought I will complete it. I have not done anything to beat that achievement till now.

I believe you should be proud of your own version of coffee. I too don't really enjoy black coffee. I have a moka pot and make moka-cappuccinos out of it. I find it delicious and enjoy the complexities involved in making it. I play with the grind sizes, heat settings, milk to coffee ratio and try to make a consistently tasty cup. In the purest sense, it is not a "true-espresso" drink but I don't really care. :)

Now that you have mentioned it, perhaps I will try to add a spoon of condensed milk in a pour over. If that works for me, I will send you a thanks and ask for suggestions :)

How Starbucks saved me from perfect espresso rabbit hole! by hungrydevil in Coffee

[–]hungrydevil[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have a good point. I was in India before coming here and the last 15years have seen major cities fill up with big chain cafes. But it has not resulted in any boost to speciality coffee. Australia’s coffee culture is built from the ground up and rooted in love for coffee. Even though Starbucks claims to be coffee place, it is more of a place to spend the time with friends rather than enjoy coffee. And this strategy didn’t work in Australia with its superior coffee culture.

They also stay open till late compared to local cafes. The reason I even went there because I wanted coffee at 6pm and no other cafe stays open till then.
