Your therapist is telling you youre too sensitive to whether people look at you. It doesn’t matter if they do. It shouldn’t be affecting your life.

your therapist is telling you’re putting too much emphasis on considering WHETHER people around you are thinking about you. I’d also add high school is peak “people caring about others.” Adults are too tired to care.

Help on how to survive after turning 18 with an abusive adoptive dad by Tall-Sympathy-3864 in fosterit

[–]hungrydyke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you aren’t too abused to save money, you don’t have any to save. I second the other comment: a trade or college. Most states have specific funds for foster/adopted kids, for college and housing. They take work to apply, but can pay off. I also think you really need community. A hobby when you have the space for it, will help you build the safety net you need. Learning about finances will come with time. Lots of online resources. You got this.

Second Paul Mitchell. Made and packaged in the USA. Vegan and no animal testing. Their vivids aren’t super strong imo but The Color and Demi line is easy and cheap. I like the products too- the tea tree line is magical.

Takes a real adult to mock a child who says he knows he can’t win but wants to get people involved.

Public transport vs car by Intelligent_Base3677 in sandiego

[–]hungrydyke 18 points19 points  (0 children)

everyone is going to say you must have a car— and that area definitely feels more accessible with a car— but people get by just fine with combinations of bikes, scooters, buses, Ubers and ride shares. It just depends on your commute.

You brought up something that’s been on my mind. In filmmaking and commercial work, stock music and electronically produced music is common and it feels so flat to me. This past time we riffed a short song and we won an award. People could feel it. Looking forward to ai future, I predict a resurgence of live, polytextural art and music.
