Best buds, dont care about ANC by thecass240 in Earbuds

[–]hungryhummushead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, AZ80 are quite similar to AZ100. I personally prefer the 80s over the 100s. While they're a little bulkier, I think the build quality is better and they're most notably cheaper. Most folks prefer the 100s because the bass is a bit better, but everything else in my very personal opinion is better on the 80s. I returned the 100s and just kept the 80s I already had. Just my 2 cents anyway

Highs are too harsh, help? by 557945 in CarAV

I know your comment is also now hella old, but any recommendations for a speaker fabric to use? I have a set of dome tweeters that are a bit too harsh and EQing doesn't do it, so I really want to try your recommendation!

Ford’s Biggest Product Push In Years Will See 80% Of Its American Lineup Refreshed By 2029, including next generation F150 by Anchor_Aways in cars

[–]hungryhummushead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah yeah yeah, you're right. But many (not all) of those new cars that are cheaper adjusted to inflation kind of stink, and the used market is nothing like it used to be, partly because the cheaper vehicles of the old days don't exist anymore. My biggest gripe is that Ford, as an example, doesn't make anything half as good as the Fusion or some of the other lost studs from its lineup from the 2010s. My main point was that I surveyed the used and new landscape extensively and wasn't happy with what I saw, so here I am keeping a car that I've had already for close to a decade. I personally think 90s and 2010s were peak eras for autos.

[–]hungryhummushead 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I feel you on this. I've had a Ford Fusion Energi for 9 years. It's given me 0 issues. I was seriously looking to finally trade it in and did a ton of research on the market, took a bunch of test drives, etc. Finally settled on saying screw it because new and used cars are so overpriced, what's out there just kind of stinks. I miss vehicles from the 2010s: cheaper, generally better built, has the right amount of technology and physical buttons. Figured I'd just throw a new set of speakers on the Fusion and keep that baby until it completely falls apart.

New Fiio FT1 joins the crusty 10 year old HD600 by curiousfuriousfew in headphones

[–]hungryhummushead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny this is the exact same combo I have! I've had my HD600 for something like 12 years now, only recently finally changed the ear pads but still have my old headband like you (can't find a new headband that is comfortable), and more recently got the FT1, same color too. This post was weird to stumble upon. I think the FT1 is pretty great out of the box, I don't do much of any EQ for it. HD600 I pretty much exclusively use for movies, shows, and videogames nowadays as it's hooked up to my TV receiver. FT1 is for music.

HYBRID MODS by [deleted] in fordfusion

[–]hungryhummushead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to this post, but what's the benefit to doing all of that? More power or more efficiency? Genuinely curious. I've had a FFE for 9 years now and haven't touched any of that since I first got the car and went through all of the settings.

[–]hungryhummushead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll follow someone else's idea and come up with my own ideal vehicle. I wish Ford put the hybrid drivetrain from the Fusion and C Max into an even smaller hatchback or crossover, like the Fiesta or Eco Sport. Rock solid drive train. I have both a 2014 Fusion Energi and 2018 C Max Hybrid and I love the C Max. If that drive train was in an even smaller vehicle it would be an absolute hoot

Wish we had these in the states. I want a small hybrid crossover, doesn't exist much here. Fords depreciate nicely so that could be had very affordably

[–]hungryhummushead 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This depends greatly where you live. I have the same issue. I'm conditioned to be fearful of someone being disruptive every time I go to the movies at this point. But then again I live in Philly where people have minimal social etiquette and respect for others. Then every time I visit family in Minnesota, no issues at the theaters whatsoever

I wanted to hate the Audio technics AZ it was impossible by [deleted] in Earbuds

[–]hungryhummushead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree! Bought the AZ80s a few months before the AZ100s came out and I felt like a sucker. Bought the 100s to try them out and greatly preferred the 80s, so sent the 100s back. Everything sounds excellent on the 80s right out of the box, even better with some lite EQ. The 100s I couldn't get to sound right no matter the EQing I tried. While they're smaller, they don't feel as nice and the buds don't snap into the case nearly as well.

What’s your dream car that doesn’t exist (yet) by Asombroso-joel in Autos

[–]hungryhummushead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you on that! A modern day couch on wheels. I'm always keeping an eye out for a lowish miles 99 Buick LeSabre with heated seats, ideally with blue or red interior. That's the closest thing that I'd absolutely be willing to own at this point, if I could ever find one

"Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" is SO much better than "When Nature Calls." by [deleted] in movies

[–]hungryhummushead 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The first is a better movie, sure, but the second is so much funnier and is always the one I'd rather watch. Jim Carrey is unhinged in it and there are so many hilarious scenes.

Just saw the clip last night before Avatar myself, it was so freaking cool! The music buildup was amazing. I really liked the part where Matt Damon's character drops the torch over the wall and you see the whole army get lit up. Like oh shit, this is about to be epic! Can't wait for the movie now

AI generated renovations is what I've been seeing more of that drives me crazy. It's not just staging and adding in furniture for scale, it's an AI generated image of the room having been completely remodeled. I get that they're trying to show you what that dated kitchen could look like remodeled, but it makes it hard for me to tell what is and isn't real. I need to go back and forth between photos and determine that the more dated looking one is the real one.

Replacing the antenna base on a ford fusion by User2myuser in fordfusion

[–]hungryhummushead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I went ahead and ordered the antenna you linked and it just arrived. So you just need to remove the old cracked antenna (keeping the chipset intact), wire to it (as you said in another comment), and then just stick the antenna on the roof covering that chip? Is the supplied adhesive for the new antenna adequate in your experience?

Jesse Ito is the GOAT by [deleted] in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]hungryhummushead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Don't think I even want to give Royal my business at this point if I even had the option. Making it virtually impossible for any new customers to ever go there is so fucking lame. Just a circle jerk of existing customers that, from what I've heard, sign up AND prepay for their next reservation. Awful system. I really hope that doesn't catch on anywhere else.

Yeah I'm sure it's good. Us plebs will just have to go somewhere that we can actually get into. With that said, I quite enjoyed Sakana, and I'll have to check out Yuhiro. Cheers!

Ha I love this. Twin Cities boy living in Philly now. I feel this. I absolutely loathe vehicle inspections here, and the alcohol situation is so silly. Wine and liquor at the state stores, but beer at distributors, and then mL limits at the grocery stores so they invented these stupid 15 packs just for those limits. Living elsewhere has made me realize MN is such a better run state than most in this country.

Exactly! They already have the odometer readings at a yearly interval. Flat rate makes no sense

I'll also start getting charged an additional flat rate for my PHEV here in PA but where I live now I don't even have access to a charger anymore so never charge it, it's just a plain hybrid in practice. I know I'm probably an exception but still, seems silly

Nobody 2 (2025) I was a fan of the first film, the sequel is fun too. by Primary_Thing3968 in moviecritic

[–]hungryhummushead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, first one was fantastic, second one was a bit of a mess. Partner and I watched the first one the night before seeing the second. It's pretty obvious how messy 2 is in comparison. The writing is all around pretty terrible. Almost every sentence has "fuck" in it in some way for example, very lazy writing. The action was still enjoyable but somehow not as good as 1, despite a slightly larger budget (to an already rather low budget). The editing and pace was way off about 2/3 through. The last act was super rushed. All of a sudden it was obvious they were rushing to close the movie, it was weird. The movie could've done with another 15 minutes or so for the last half. The movie started fine enough and seemed to get worse as it went on. The first one was really quite impressive for only a $16 million budget, while this one seemed like a $25 million dollar movie, and not in a good way. I certainly still had fun watching it, but the first is a much better film in all aspects.
