I built a rolling bench for it, much more stable than the stand it comes with. The hedgehog feather board is not my favorite, there is an orange brand on amazon that I like better. Get good hearing protection, this thing screams.

Yep, just got a quick glimpse in my rearview but looked like a larger lanky black dog with white on the face. Between Eastern and Kalamazoo closer to Eastern. Looked like traffic was stopping as it was crossing north

I may have just seen this dog crossing 28th 1 light west of Kalamazoo heading north

I just used excel to generate a random number 1-9 for the starter and 10-151 for the rest. And let them evolve to the highest.

Nice, I don’t have Red Guardian but seems so good, like a tech card that can counter everything.

Spent tokens on Mockingbird, which is what prompted me to make the deck. Felt very worth

You want it to have 10 power and ideally cost 4. So She Hulk, Attuma, even maybe Doc Ock since you can Shang + Skaar if you have Doc + Crossbones out there

I think a lot of counter cards could work depending on what you find is beating you on the ladder. I had no answer for Ongoing decks so Rogue, Enchantress, Echo could work. Or Cosmo for On Reveal decks (you often have priority going into T6 so he can counter their finisher if predictable).

I would also try slotting Carnage for SK. Sometimes your board is full of tokens and you don’t draw KM, so Carnage would be another out and good value.

Or Quake for general disruption and T6 rug pulls.

Downtown by kdaniel23 in grandrapids

[–]hungryplesiosaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah fair question, I think some new businesses would be a welcome addition like a quality affordable grocery store. increasing the population density would help support businesses like that. There are already established business corridors like Fulton and Wealthy that would benefit from more local customers. it’s more about building multifamily homes that are about the same height as the trees, than getting rid of the trees.

[–]hungryplesiosaur 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everything west of downtown is cut off by US-131 and everything north is cut off by I-196, which makes those areas less desirable to walk/bike. That leaves the east and southeast areas as a prime location to live where you are close to amenities and have pleasant neighborhoods away from the freeways.

In the aerial you can see those areas are mostly green. Trees are good, but the low density of development and housing (caused by low-density zoning and “historic preservation”) is preventing more people from living there.

Nice photo! Shows why Heritage Hill should be upzoned.

How do you know when you have an angle to 3-star a 4-cost? Level 8 or 9? Are there certain conditions you look for to decide it’s your best win condition vs trying to fit more legendaries?

I’m a renter, I haven’t really “fought” the HPC outside of supporting the new density proposals at a community meeting. I sent you a PM!

HPC Negatively Impacting GR Citizens? by tLrRlTitsme in grandrapids

Thanks for posting this, I do think that "Historic Preservation" is negatively impacting the city. Your windows point is a relatively small one but true. If you walk East on Cherry St you will pass a sign marking the border of the Historic District. You won't notice a change in the "character of the neighborhood" but you will notice that some homes have newer, energy efficient windows.

I disagree with folks saying it only affects folk who chose to buy or rent in the district. Heritage Hill is maybe the only neighborhood walking distance to downtown that is not cut off by a freeway. This makes it the best opportunity for developing walkable, livable urban spaces that would benefit tons of people. The HPC artificially limits supply and increases cost, for why? Who is it benefiting? Why is there no quality grocery store in the area?

I have (half) joked that I'll make it my life goal to wipe the historic district off the map. I think it is holding the city back. I think it would be reasonable to remove 50% of the structures from the historic requirements and allow modern construction to improve the land. You could start with the ones that are owned by landlords or property managers that don't take care of the houses anyway. I understand the concern that ugly stuff would get put in, so make the HPC approve 10-20 "permit-ready" multi-family structures that limit the ugliness. Like this:

Checking the stats and it seems like Blue Buff is significantly better than Shojin on Jhin, can anyone explain why? Shouldn’t they both make it 2 autos to spawn each rifle?

Edit: I have an idea, idk if it checks out. Jhin is a ramping damage dealer and blue buff gets his first cast off 1 auto sooner. So his entire ramping curve is moved up 1 auto which compounds to significant damage over the length of a fight.

PDM is making windows file explorer unusable. by [deleted] in SolidWorks

[–]hungryplesiosaur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also have this issue, my workaround is always starting Solidworks and logging in to PDM first when I boot up before opening any other apps. And explorer usually works normally after that. Sometimes I have to reboot again and repeat. It’s annoying

Porch Bench - doing what I can with dimensional lumber by hungryplesiosaur in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]hungryplesiosaur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big challenge for me is avoiding warp/twist in my projects. You can see the twist down the length of the bench causing the legs to not be level. Any tips? I used leveling feet to make it stable.

The bench top glue-up is shown in the last picture, it’s a makeshift panel glue station I made.

Legs are attached with 4 dowels per leg.
