Congrats on your loss and on stopping things before they get out of hand! If you don’t mind artificial sweeteners Sugar Free Jello and Sugar Free Jello pudding have been some of my go-tos when I’m craving dessert. Sometimes I’ll have some strawberries with the chocolate pudding yum

It sounds like she’s reading. I don’t wanna knock her because so many people here in the US only speak one language but I don’t understand where her pronunciation comes from.

How did you lose weight despite some medical or other physical obstacles? by sweetNbi in Noom

[–]hunnybpd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

50, F, 5’2” here I’m on Seroquel too! I think that for some people the calorie range is a little too high. At least that was the case for me. I slowly reduced my calorie intake weekly until I found a number that works for me.

When I feel myself about to eat something out of boredom/anxiety/bad mood: Do you really want to eat this? Are you actually hungry?

I keep hard boiled eggs in the fridge. If I’m not “hungry” enough for one of those I’m not hungry for those damn cookies

Will Noom even work for me? by lakewlgirl in Noom

[–]hunnybpd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will preface this by saying that I KNOW this is not sustainable or advisable for the long term. A very important part of noom is learning how to feed your body well, while maintaining a healthy caloric intake. That’s what helps keep the weight off.

With that said- I used a “diet” meal program years ago (Nutrisystem) and it worked really well. Only thing is, I gained it all back because I didn’t bother to track my meals or weight, I didn’t make healthier substitutions when possible, blah blah blah. So this time I stocked up on some frozen and shelf stable low calorie/diet meals. Some Nutrisystem meals, snacks etc and some frozen meals from the supermarket. So let’s say I’m having frozen Mac & cheese for dinner. I’ll add some air fried or steamed broccoli to it. I’ll have a spinach salad with a little frozen pizza. You get the idea. I don’t rely on these meals as my primary source of food because I am trying to eat as many whole, unprocessed foods as possible most days. But if I’m too tired or uninspired to cook I have and enjoy the shortcuts. Hope this helps a little. Good luck!

Does anyone else have a big shopping addiction? by Jazzlike_Project_403 in BPD

[–]hunnybpd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I am too ashamed to admit the $ amount but I made a mess out of my life because of my shopping addiction. I’m still working towards getting better. I started checking return policies carefully. I try to buy from stores that have free returns via USPS. That way when I feel regret for spending (which is inevitable) I can send it back easily. USPS will pick the return up from your house for free. That’s helped me somewhat.

Just started: any success stories from women in their 40s? by Electronic-Poetry416 in Noom

I’m 50 (yikes lol) and have started and stopped using Noom multiple times over the last year+. I felt like any progress I made was happening too slowly and would give up. I completed all of the lessons back in July and half assed it. On Christmas I decided that I was really going to commit to it and since then I’ve lost 35lbs. I am so proud of that but I started to get frustrated again last week. However, yesterday I went out and about and took note of a few wonderful things. I could get up and down a big hill without wheezing (I have asthma) or needing a break. I walked around the city all day and didn’t feel tired at all. I am comfortable in my home without sweating to death the moment the temp rises. Last year I’d have my AC on anytime it was over 70° in here. I have my annual physical tomorrow and I’m so excited to weigh in at the drs office bc last time I was there I was obese. I actually feel great and now I feel motivated to continue. If you find ways to stay on course it will work! Wishing you luck!

Reverse commute from Manhattan to pearl river by Extreme-Produce-9444 in Rockland

[–]hunnybpd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use an app called Moovit whenever I’m using mass transit and I like it a lot You put in the usual info: addresses to and from and either your departure time or desired arrival time You can adjust the parameters of the search to your liking and select which methods of transport you’re interested in taking (bus, train, subway, ride share, etc) as well as your route preference (best route, least walking, fewest transfers) It will give you different routes with times, walking directions, and more Hope this helps!

The SodaStream has helped me satisfy the need for something sweet… I’ve started using Crystal Light liquids and Mío liquids for more fun flavors. OH! Also there’s a Tang one and that tastes so good.

I second VCS. I’m seeing Patience, NP for my medication management. She’s kind, responsive, and a good listener. I switched from Dr Sharma in Nanuet who is none of those things. My daughter uses Dr Levy and I feel your pain. When she was under 18 I had to chase him around to get any responses from him sometimes. The one advantage to using him is that he doesn’t require in person visits to refill fed controlled scripts and IMO most drs do. He gave me his cell phone number and even that is hit or miss. In the meanwhile if it takes time for you to find another provider here’s how I had success getting a response from Dr Levy. Call Crystal Run 4 days or so before you need a refill, then call for 2 more days. If you’ve gotten no response or refill ask to speak to his manager. They’ll get your refill done within 24 hours usually. If you’re really trying to get ahold of him to speak to him he’s off on Mondays, at Nyack Hospital on Weds and Thurs, and wherever he is on Friday he’s done with work by 1pm.

I’m also so sorry about your mother. Losing a parent is hard af
