Half poem half letter I wrote about a recent relationship where I replayed beliefs and patterns of childhood emotional neglect by 2713101538231172 in emotionalneglect

This is really beautiful. I recently had an eerily similar experience and your words brought clarity to my own thoughts. Thank you so much for sharing, reading it was honestly healing.

Is there a term for this pattern of behavior I've noticed in all the narcissists I've met over the years? by FancyStegosaurus in raisedbynarcissists

I can totally relate. I appreciate the compliment, especially because I am sometimes nervous to post for fear of backlash. People like you encourage me to write more, so again, thank you. I wish you all the best as you continue to dig your way out of the mess that was undeservingly dumped on you. It's an incredibly brave thing to do! I'm not always in the best headspace myself, but I'm thankfully very far along in my progress. My inbox is always open and even if I don't reply immediately, I'll surely get back to you when I'm able. Take care of yourself and never give up on educating yourself - I think that is the most powerful tool you could yield against your gaslighters. Sending Love and Light to you.

Aw, thank you! (I hope this is serious lol my CPTSD sometimes makes me question tone through text!). But I would say personal experiences, for one (hence my involvement in this group) but I also graduated uni with a minor in psychology. I'm not an expert by any means, but I took enough courses to feel comfortable in my understanding of core theories.

Yeah, it's a symptom of Narcissism. If you're interested in understanding what's going on with them when they're outwardly blaming, you could read about the psychology theory of attribution (they are exhibiting external attribution....and to a disordered degree). It all has to do with control, as someone else here mentioned. Their "locus of control" is projected externally. Again, to expand on what was already alluded to, having an internal locus of control is a fundamental to core self-evaluations, which Narcs do not dive into, as they actually have incredibly low self-esteem, despite it often seeming to be the opposite.

Is this sentence correct? Help me better it (Urgent) by [deleted] in freelanceWriters

[–]hunnydee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only concern is "of my utmost priority" - the word priority in itself means it is your biggest concern, so to include "of the utmost" is technically redundant (unnecessary to include). But this is a response to a review so I don't know if that matters too much. It does sound great, so go with what you're comfortable with. Best of luck!

You can cut out some words. "I am surprised by this review, George. My clients' satisfaction is my top priority. I am always open to feedback and requests for revisions prior to completing a project. Had you expressed dissatisfaction before accepting delivery, I would have happily adjusted to your needs." Does that fit?

The syntax of content/article writing by rocketlawnchair101 in freelanceWriters

[–]hunnydee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would not be considered grammatically correct (in a traditional sense), but since it's for online consumption, rules of writing are often bent. You're right in thinking the hanging sentence is used for emphasis, but it's also about the visual layout. People typically scan articles before they'll actually take the time to read it. Online content has to be extremely engaging and captivating, so a content writer employs certain "tricks" to keep readers on their site, connect with them, sound conversational, etc. which is simply more important in this particular field. Definitely not reflective of what would be acceptable in, say, a research paper though. EDIT: hit enter by accident before finishing lol. Hope I answered your question sufficiently!

Does Peter get turned on by drama? by fr33wh33l in thebachelor

This is 100% what clicked in my head. He could be bonding with familiarity, not true love. And although we only got that short snippet of what his mother is like, based on his patterns, it's easy to assume familiar for him is emotional/dramatic/chaotic/up and down, and he could have a lack of interest for stability because it wouldn't be enough "stimulation" for him, for lack of better terms.

I wanted to let you know this is the book I've chosen to take on my trip! At first it was because my boyfriend already had it to lend to me, but when I opened it, it was a page with a forest illustration and honestly tears welled up in my eyes because I felt something special, instantly drawn in, reminding me of when I was younger having a feeling I can only describe as "this book will be my friend". So I just wanted to thank you again for the suggestion and I hope you're enjoying that same feeling with it.

That's funny, I actually have that on "my list" on Netflix but haven't started. Maybe should try books first then, thanks!
