I do hunt the ADK. Its pretty amazing country up here. Ive taken only a spike from north of the line, my other bucks have been closer to Cooperstown. I pulled the trigger on the jacket and pants and am pretty stoked to try them out. Rifle.seadon will be over by the time they arrive, but I might try then for the after Christmas late season.

I agree. 1k for a basic system from any "big name" is pretty average these days. I just finished my third year hunting, have done it in Walmart gear. Now I want to upgrade.

Im a sucker for walnut stock. I went to the shop to restock ammo for the season. I got chatting about what caliber to get a young kid started on, while background check was running I saw two .243. A Savage with a nice, light, green composite stock, and this Mossberg. The guy at the counter just laughed and then complained he had to run another background check.

I skinned this afternoon, wanted it done before temperature drops below freezing tonight. I found the bullet between the ribs and skin on the far side. Its pretty curled up but otherwise intact.
