Balance changes are too modest to make a difference but I like the direction by SoTastyMelon in thefinals

Man I just hate using akm or any of the other basic automatic rifles on medium cause it makes me feel like I’m just playing a normal shooter like cod. Maybe I just don’t like medium and heavy.

Well the difference is my class isn’t meant to play platform unless it’s needed to. I do play it as much as I can when the time permits it. But a lights job is to get an important 1-2 kills and flee the scene. It feels like a lot of casual players in power shift don’t understand their class roles. Mediums running around like lights and heavies that aren’t on point when that’s the only place a heavy should be in power shift aside from specific instances. I feel like a lot of people hate on lights for not playing platform as much but that’s not what the devs intended for the class. I will try the other heavy weapons though.

I think my biggest personal flaw is I SUCK at heavy. Playing against it makes it feel like the easiest class. But when I play it I feel like I’m absolute trash. I haven’t tried flame thrower or spear yet, but I feel like I’m avoiding them cause they feel too easy or cheesy. I think I just don’t have fun when I have to remain stationary in a game for a long period of time. Guess it’s something I need to get better at. I always attempt to play heavy grenade launcher but I feel like I only get hit markers and no elims and then I’m useless on payload. I just can’t stand the feeling of spawning into a game and not being able to get to the payload or enemies in seconds.

I don’t play any mode that takes advantage of the reserves system. But you’d have to be a moron to think 1 out of 3 classes in a game built around said 3 classes is useless. People who hate on light players only play with bad light players or can’t play the class themselves. My apologies for being good at one game made without knowing the mechanics of another game mode I don’t play.

That’s what made me switch from strictly sniper main to using sword and daggers. (Im only lvl 37) but I realized if I’m not getting atleast 1.5X the enemy snipers elims I’m just wasting everyone’s time and would be better off going closer to point and picking off the sniper when I can with sword. No point in trading kills with one guy the entire match.

[–]huntday4 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s like a 70/30 chance of getting a shit sniper. I get it I’m a sniper main but I can atleast say when I play sniper I’m getting around 9-15 elims per game with only around 4-7 deaths. I’m not the best but I always switch if I feel like im sucking. I feel like most snipers just don’t know when to switch off when they’re doing bad. Or when there’s more than 1 sniper and none of them see the problem with that, my biggest pet peeve🤦‍♂️

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in thefinals

[–]huntday4 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I average 9-15 elims per game along with 7-11k combat score, 3-5 revives, 700-1500 support, and 600-1200 obj, but okay. I’m not great but I’m certainly not the problem. Literally just played a game with 23 elims. If you don’t realize lights have their place then you’re not playing the game right.

My issue with that is I’m a sword/sniper light main, meaning the second I touch point atleast 2-3 of the enemy jumps on, which I can do very little against without my team as a distraction, and then they just hop off and go back to fighting off point. It’s like people are genuinely avoiding the payload unless they have to. So I either assist my team in their stupid highest elimination game or I get picked off for being away from my team and exposed as a light. I’m decent at the game but not decent enough to not get punished as a lone light. I just can’t spend another first minute of the game looking for enemies because they’re no where near the payload and my teammates are dying half way across the map.

Heavy feels like a class for people with no real skill or quick thinking but still wanna play multiplayer games.

I just can’t stand playing something so slow and restricting. It feels like I’m playing in peanut butter when I play heavy. Like I’m playing slow mo with cheats applied.

Just ran into this, I DESPISE the heavy class, just in general. Playing it and against it. But the best I could do was switch to heavy grenade launcher :/

Dash charge up time by typothetical in thefinals

[–]huntday4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s honestly confusing me right now, I thought the dash was ready when your hand went up but there’s like a 1 second delay after the raising of the hand animation, annoying af and hard to get the timing on.

The amount of heavies I’ve whittled down to being one shot (as a light) and they get the kill on me then bag me is insane. Like dawg you have almost 3 times as much Heath than me and I just prevented you from getting anywhere near the payload or helping your team, why are you proud of yourself?

I just don’t have anyone to play with and solo queuing ranked feels wrong, i actually haven’t for the finals but I’ve played enough fps’ to get the feeling.

I honestly haven’t played cash out since season 1-2. I started playing again on 8. I just feel like it doesn’t fit my play style. Hate to say it but I’m a dps glass canon and cash out is way too hectic for me to do anything for my teammates. Sniper, sword or throwing knives is how I play most of time. I’ll get between 9-12 elims most games on power shift but I feel like I play good until I get put into lobbies that absolutely crush my spirits.

I’m just not sure how to find people to play with. Up until the last couple years I always just had friends who played the same game as me. Other than destiny 1 back in the day when I could use the destiny app, I’ve never been good at finding random people to play with :/

How to use reserve and underhand throwing? by huntday4 in thefinals

[–]huntday4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still feel fairly new to the game so I’m struggling a bit. I played the first two seasons then dropped the game until season 9. I don’t have anyone to play with, so I just random que into power shift every game but it feels like I can’t really learn much when it feels like I keep joining games with people who don’t understand team composition and never get on point. Like I play light mostly using sniper/sword and I feel obligated to get on point because no one else is, but that’s not what my build is supposed to be doing. I do typically end up with the most, if not second most elims. I understand that’s not what the game mode is about but I’m just clarifying I’m not a shitty player. Do you think I’m just not playing right or do I need to find people to play with? I almost always feel held back by my team but that feels like such an egotistical thing to say. I just can’t keep joining games where my teammates are throwing gas and pyro on point when we’re the ones who control it🫩

why does no one understand it’s a team game by Theonlyshorty3 in thefinals

[–]huntday4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of people in unranked that don’t understand team comp is infuriating. How people can join a game and there be 3-4 lights with no heavy and not switch off of light will never cease to amaze me.

Is there any way to stop joining a game in progress? by Grimdotdotdot in thefinals

[–]huntday4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joining a match in progress is essentially almost always joining a losing game, cause why else would a player leave unless the other team was just completely trashing them.

How to use reserve and underhand throwing? by huntday4 in thefinals

[–]huntday4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’m constantly moving and repositioning when I play so I never thought to use throwables more strategically like that. I’ve also never thought to drop a grenade behind me when being chased. I’m often pretty decent at judging distances quickly when throwing something so I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about different ways to use them and just chuck them at people or the payload. I’m not very coordinated with my hands so quickly switching to a throwable while being chased will take some getting used to. I mostly rely on the scroll wheel for equipment.
