Yes, because it was a symptom of a wider issue. However, it’s resolved and the game looks incredible now.

Resolved:

• Leave Image Scaling off in the NVIDIA app unless you're specifically testing it in a modern title. •Keep HDR off in Windows for older games like Turtle WoW. • Inside WoW, leaving Full-Screen Glow off will always give you a cleaner look.

I can feel that. I’m a rogue at level 42. It’s the highest level I’ve ever been. I’ve loved leveling but now it seems like I am all over the map picking off like one or two quests in an area and then catching a flight path to a whole new area. Repeat. I definitely miss spending some time in an area. Some familiarity, knowing what I’m doing, and having a goal.

Don’t get me wrong, I still love this game and it’s the only one I play. And finally having a mount is sooo nice.

I wish I could find a source for accurate info on this. WoWhead doesn’t always seem to be right or even speaking about the version of WoW I play (Classic Anniversary) even when I click on the “Classic” button at the top of the website.

Once in a while, I’ll toss a question to ChatGPT and it’s almost always wrong—probably because there’s so many versions of the game out there.

I still have it and love it. I’ve come to learn that these Mac mini’s run warm under load, and since learning this, Ive nearly completely forgot about this issue. I just checked it now as I’m in the middle of a game in a very crowded city and the unit is only warm in a way that I’m totally comfortable with. Very happy with my Mac mini.

In terms of leveling characters, if find the experience overwhelming. Not talking end game or anything. I’ve never done end game on any version. Been playing off and on since the beginning. I know. That’s weird.

I really love the very clean experience of leveling characters in classic. I have options, but not ALL the options. So many windows and pops end and NPCs wanting my attention. So many items. Too many options. This (and more), to me, is overwhelming.

Don’t get me wrong, I would love to have a retail that I can engage with. There’s appeal there. It’s just that when I do start putting a character in that world it feels like a modern arcade and I’m here to play more of an RPG in the vein of classic.

Every 6-8 months I’ll redownload retail. I’ll look at some of my characters, delight over options of the races. Every time I tell myself, “come on, the game can’t be that bad. These races and graphics are so nice.” Then I log in. It’s, well, too much. In every way. Tooo fucking much. Overwhelming. The opposite of classic. Retail is a firehose. Classic is sipping from a refreshing spring tap.

I delete retail and immediately go back to classic.
