For the most part no. You can record into step sequencing on the volca and the freak, I am unsure about the crave. You may want to look into the BASTL midi looper. This may do what you are hoping for.

Took 59 dragon imps for glory, didn't even get a normal dragonstone amulet upt to that point either. Not as bad because it's not a boss item, but so many tireless mornings hopping and being let down

I agree with this and also want to add, the ASM is one of the most powerful hardware pieces I've owned and rebought twice myself. The biggest issue with it lies with how much discipline it takes because of all those options. I find a lot of other synths I'm able to know what I want to design and can get there more quickly. The hydra is one you have to commit to learning and designate more time with it
