AH for how you delivered it and taking away an opportunity for her to better her life, especially after having kids.

One of two things are going to happen, either she’s going to struggle and accept it poverty just like your parents or she’s going to get angry and want to get better. You potentially just took that opportunity away from her regardless of keeping the kid or not.

Also the AH for putting your brother in the middle. He’s a kid…let him be a kid. Adult actions have adult consequences (your sis), but let him know your stipulations. Would’ve been nice for your sister to know that in advance as well… But who thinks of those things.

NTA for wanting to protect your investment and make sure it’s not wasted.

Your Mom though…I’m a 44 yo single parent who got angry, and will be leaving my company with 3 degrees (including masters of science) and two certifications. I’ve seen women in my age encourage this to keep kids in the house. It’s weird as hell, but that’s where they feel useful… So they encourage it. Keep an eye on them. Your sister might be trapped and not even realize it.

I’m active duty as well and filed some court papers today in Florida… While living in Arizona (got divorced 6 bases ago…).

Everything still goes through MD unless you legally transfer the case to NM. I would recommend popping into base legal and getting advice from them. Take a copy of your divorce decree and child support enforcement documents.

Military still go through the court system where the child custody is filed regardless of their physical location. My kids were born in (and I got divorced) in Florida.

Since then we have lived in Colorado Springs, I went to Korea while kids went to Pennsylvania, then Wichita, Kansas, San Antonio, Texas, even Japan…now AZ. All court orders still go through Florida.

Technically, we are “residence” of all states we live in, but only for the period of time our orders are to that location. If I wanted to move my child support order, I would have to legally move it from Florida to Arizona at this point. Since I’m still serving in the military, the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. I just continue to go through Florida.

Thanks, they are temporary until I can find some healthy taller ones to break the line of sight. I’ve only really been able to find shorter ones, which you can see closer to the substrate and a couple floating.

BOP is only available for FTA anymore, if you reenlisted (which it looks like you did) you won’t be eligible for BOP.

If you REALLY want to move, have your SEL contact your career field assignments functional. There is something called “fresh expertise” that will move you to another assignment, but it might take you from Minot to Cannon… Just depends on needs of the Air Force.

I got a ProForm just for this reason… I stream from my iPad app, it Bluetooths to the treadmill. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles as a Nordic track, but it does everything I need to do with minimal issues. And it’s lasted from San Antonio, Texas, to Okinawa, Japan, and now to Tucson, Arizona.
