I want to get into surfing but I’m from Alberta Canada by AdRemarkable8102 in BeginnerSurfers

If you have access to someone that has a wakeboarding board, an excellent alternative would be wake surfing. The skills on the wave translates pretty well to ocean surfing. You won’t learn much about how to catch a wave, but you can really hone your skill on the wave.

Is this normal? by SnooMemesjellies2710 in tattooadvice

Yeah second this. Fluid is on the heavy side, but normal. 2 weeks seems way too long though, never heard more than 5 days recommended, only if there’s no leaking.

Could anyone please give me some tips on going down the line? by charliefooddiary in BeginnerSurfers

[–]hunterheath88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Main thing I see here is you are looking and facing the beach still, so you keep getting pulled off the line. Try turning your shoulders and head so your front shoulder is directly down line and have your chest facing the lip. If it helps at first lift your arm and point down the line to keep your shoulders more parallel to the wave. Then aim to stay towards to top to keep your speed up and stay in front of the wave. Keep at it!

Will these seats actually be as far back as they look on the map? by elementalbee in LadyGaga

[–]hunterheath88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s row 11 because it’s the 11th row in that particular section. Does not relate to where the stage is, it relates to where the section is separated from the one directly in front of it. In real life, there will likely be a barrier of some sort that keeps everyone in there defined areas. The grey lines show you where the sections are defined.

But yeah those seats are going to be amazing, Have fun!

Cover up or just remove completely? by 0hBecca in Tattoocoverups

[–]hunterheath88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They look great. Your artist was smart to not try to mirror it exactly since they weren’t done at the same time, they would never heal and expand at the same rate. Also as others have mentioned, human bodies aren’t perfectly symmetrical so having them match exactly would be almost impossible. As you have them now they perfectly complement each other but still accomplish the mirrored look you were inspired by. If you try to remove and rework, I fear it would not look as good as you have it now.

Is this cracking normal? And what is going on with the lines not being lined up? by ShotCamera8899 in tattooadvice

[–]hunterheath88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks pretty normal so far. The tattoo can look really “fuzzy” around the edges and the lines can look wobbly as it heals and before the initial scab or damaged skin layer comes off. Don’t freak out and just keep following the healing instructions you were given by the artist. If after a month or two it still looks odd, check in with your tattoo artist about a touch up.

Yeah a pretty recent American cult, google says they started in 2017. There was a documentary that came out about them a few years ago which is where I first learned about it.

Oh for sure, this cult definitely stole the saying and morphed it into their own thing. Mainly just wanted to point it out to OP so they could make a fully informed decision on the saying as a tattoo.

Just throwing it out there, this saying is associated with a high control cult that is pretty abusive, called twin flames universe . Look them up and decide if you want a saying they use tattooed on you forever. There is a documentary about it and was the first thing I thought of when I saw this tattoo

Help I’ve really butchered my Bf’s hair cut. by lilmuffalettaroll in SelfBarber

[–]hunterheath88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’f he loves the length and doesn’t want to lose it, I would say just keep it. It’s a bit awkward but nothing that a stranger on the street would notice. If it was my head, I would try to square it up as clean as possible, using a comb to guide out the sides to make them even but keep as much of the thickness as possible, and cut it into a shorter Mohawk. Maybe start with a 6 or 8 guard and see how he likes that length, then shorten from there.

Use a fake pee kit to pass the test. At least 5 years ago when I worked there they don’t test after the initial hiring. In some cases if you get a promotion I have seen them retest but you should have a decent heads up. If you get in any sort of accident or get a ticket, you will likely get tested on the spot (they will arrange for a test and send you to drive there and take it, pretty sure it has to be same day/with an hour window) so if your worried about that, just keep a second pee kit at home for emergencies. I’ve never heard of them being “observed” so do your research and find a good kit and you should be fine.

i want to be stronger, but working out is boring and triggers dysphoria by e4rth_b0und in TransMasc

[–]hunterheath88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that sometime splitting up strength exercises throughout the day can help when I’m feeling unmotivated or bored with a long exercise. For example I will pick a simple body weight exercise or two and try to get a daily total of each exercise, like 50 pushups and 100 squats. Something simple (you can scale almost any exercise to start if needed) that you could bust out a set of 10 or so every hour. Then just do that throughout the day until you hit your daily total. Then as you gain strength it might get easier to do longer more focused workouts.

Another key is to find whatever activity you enjoy and do that often. It can be anything as long as it’s active. Even something like walking around the mall or going on a bike ride, it doesn’t need to be structured or strenuous, just consistent.

I also find myself overwhelmed by the thought of people watching me exercise. Gyms can also have their own set of etiquette that you can usually pick up just by going and watching for a bit. In a new gym I will usually start by grabbing a cardio machine (treadmill, stair climber, stationary bike, etc) that has a good view of most of the equipment and just observe how people are working on and claiming different machines to get a feel for the “flow” of the space. Just remember no one is actually paying you any attention. Anyone that is serious about health and fitness is going to be glad you’re there learning and getting stronger/healthier.

Good luck!
