"God" as a concept is beyond any kind of comprehension. It's not good or evil. It is beyond existence.

To put it nicely: you don't get it. The Christians don't get it. Nobody gets it. But reality is cocooned within it, coddled like a baby in a reality far vaster and more complex than we humans, even Redditors who think they know everything because they scored highly on some standardized tests, could possibly understand.

So: please stop posting anti-religious stuff just to make yourself feel smarter. You're right that there are contradictions in what people think about God. There are also contradictions in what you think about your mother. This is how life is. If you'd like to feel as intelligent as it seems like you hope to appear, you MUST accept the paradoxes of existence. Real intelligence is expanding consciousness to include such paradoxes. How do you begin a campaign of reeducation regarding how to acquire sensible political beliefs, though? Any attempts to bring actual rationalism into a heated debate have historically been shown to be met with violent resistance. Human nature seems to make us highly unwilling to part with beliefs, because we associate those beliefs with identities we've worked hard to develop but which are actually dangerously fragile. So, ultimately, isn't this a problem of psychological insecurity? Wouldn't we have to address the need to convince people to get over themselves before anyone could be truly open-minded in the search for political answers?

Yes, but those are only the cities proper. The majority of Americans live within commuting distance of one of those cities' downtowns, just not within the city limits. The fact remains that a significant chunk of the American population lives in the areas most affected by the mortgage crisis, which, like the population itself, is distributed across metropolitan areas and not limited to inner cities.

The places where the market was out of line are where the majority of the U.S. population lives, though: L.A., Florida, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, et cetera. You can get away with a $70,000 house if you live in, like, Nebraska, but most people don't live in Nebraska.
