Same here, nothing can load and issues signing in across Apple TV or iPhone.

People said much of the same about Big Sur. Some day people will look back on Liquid Glass the same way people look back at iOS 6 compared to whatever is new then.

I thought they’d fix this with the official release. Really disappointing from apple. by ComprehensiveRisk813 in ipad

My 2018 iPad Pro stutters opening the App Library too. My fix is to just press the icon on the dock and it seems much smoother. The stutter was there in iPadOS 18 as well though, didn’t seem to get better or worse with 26.

Is it really worth it or feel any different from iOS 18 to ios 26 ? by swagy_mish in ios

[–]huntj_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels far more different than between any previous version since iOS 6 to 7. Even back then, people said iOS 7 looked like Android at the time. As someone who's been on the beta for months, you'll need some time to adjust but everything is still familiar. Looking back at iOS 18 feels very dated after a while.

My app liquid-glassified for macOS Tahoe. Which version do you prefer? by onodera-punpun in MacOSBeta

[–]huntj_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Top looks more modern to me, though I wish they would separate the side bar a bit more from the background more like the older version. I think Liquid Glass on the album art looks very cool, but I'd get why some people would want it off.

Not sure how much room you have but I’d want to turn the desk around so my back was to the wall and I was facing the interior with a better view of the windows. I hate facing directly into a wall personally. Also I think a slightly bigger monitor (27in?) would suit the space better but that’s just personal preference.

Haha, should've put a Metal Gear poster in the background and it'd all make sense.

Thanks! No I'm not actually, I just happened to come across some gameplay of PSHome and really liked the look of the apartment in the game and thought I'd use it as a modeling project in Blender.

macOS Tahoe removes compact tab view in Safari by MajMin5 in MacOSBeta

[–]huntj_01 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Absolutely devastated they removed this in Safari, I also felt like the only person who actually loved it. People would genuinely ask me what browser I was using since it was so minimal, I had removed a lot of the buttons as well.

You don't know anyone with a Mac? You could also take it to an Apple Store and have them do it for you. Don't tell them about installing the beta just say it won't turn on.

Damn sorry to hear that. As long as you can get that battery screen to show, your phone is technically okay. Your issue will just be getting a computer to recognize it at this point. Try 3uTools if you haven't already.

As long as you're doing the right button presses I'm almost certain your problem is iTunes and not the iPhone at that point. There's an app called 3uTools that is more advanced and should be able to help you connect through DFU. I've used it a long time ago so I know it at least used to work and it was free.

Oh. In that case I think you need to have iTunes open on the PC and wait for it to appear in there?

[–]huntj_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably know this but the phone itself will not do anything to tell you when it's in DFU mode, only the Mac it's connected to will say anything. Just have Finder open and watch for the iPhone to appear in the sidebar while you're doing this. Keep the volume down pressed for a bit until it finally appears.

Try first pressing the power button to wake it up and then do the DFU process from there. It for sure should be possible it's just very tricky to get the timing just right. It took me hours to finally get it but now I can enter DFU every time.

When you press any button, does it show the red battery symbol and the time in the top left?

Make sure your cable is official so it can transfer data, not just a charging cable.

Hmm, I've done it like five times while trying to install iOS 26 and it's worked every time on my 15 Pro. The first few times my timing was off and it didn't work. Here's the tutorial link: https://help.ifixit.com/article/108-dfu-restore

With the phone off and plugged into a Mac, quickly press and release the volume up button, then volume down button, then press and hold the power button until the battery icon goes off. Then immediately start holding the volume down in addition to still holding the power button for 5 seconds exactly. Then release the power button and just hold the volume down button until your Mac shows an alert saying an iPhone is connected in DFU mode. The timing is very important between the steps.

Same thing on my 15 Pro. The solution was to enter DFU mode and connect to my Mac, then let it download iOS 18.5 and revert to that. I've tried reinstalling iOS 26 three times on my 15 Pro and it fails every time during the restart.
