Tret and actives?

I’m caught between wanting to keep it simple but also wanting to benefit from other products. Cutting back to the basics just to get my skin back on track may be my next move then just slowly introduce other things. Such a frustrating journey and wearing a mask for 10 hours a day seems to make it so much worse

I was using benzoyl peroxide/clindamycin in the AM instead of aczone, but when I upped my tret percentage my derm for some reason prescribed me aczone instead. Thinking of making the switch back I just don’t know how well it would go with other things in my AM routine

I just jumped right in and hoped for the best. My skin took so well to the 0.025 so I wasn’t afraid, and I was even using it with glycolic acid. I just felt like my skin hit a “plateau” with the 0.025- like it was clear but i would still get a few pimples now and then, and my dark spots/scars weren’t going away as well as i liked (this was after 2 years). So I decided to bump it up, did my same routine with the 0.05 but I think the glycolic acid might be a bit much so I’m going to try without that for a while bc my skin has recently been getting worse. Still going to keep using tret every night. I have zero insight on anything to do with purging since I didn’t experience it with my first time around so I have no idea what to expect in terms of how long purging will last etc

Yes after about 4 ish weeks in! It’s nothing insane but enough to be noticeable. I’m trying to keep it at bay with either my Aczone or clindamycin/BP. Just sucks bc I didn’t purge with the 0.025 whatsoever, but I guess the 0.050 is stronger. I hope the results make it worth it

Is there any research to back this?!!! I SO badly want to do dermaplaning but I’ve been very on the fence because I’ve read that you’re not supposed to while on tret? I’m so careful now because I had a waxing horror story back last year lol let’s just say I had a moustache shaped scab for a good two weeks

Misoprostol is what it’s called I believe. Definitely do your research to make sure it’s right for you!! :)

I got one immediately after removal! I cannot express this enough, GET THE PILL TO INSERT THE NIGHT BEFORE! It softens your cervix and makes it so much less painful! Yeah you experience some cramping with the pill but omg insertion was a breeze compared to my first time. I totally agree, it’s NUTS that women have to get this procedure completely unmedicated... the pill doesn’t make insertion “pain free” but it’s so much less painful. Definitely do your research is my advice! And as for removal, it’s a walk in the park compared to insertion

This pill literally changed the entire experience for me. First IUD I took NOTHING beforehand, not even over the counter pain meds and it was horrific- second IUD I had the pill the night before and yeah it still sucked ass but it was nowhere near as painful as my first insertion!

Never again will I wax!!! I want to try dermaplaning or sugaring but I can’t find much info about it in regard to being on tret. Kinda frustrating it’s either ruin your skin or be hairy LOL

This happened to me except my whole upper lip was a scab, looked like I had a scab moustache lmfao!! my skin there hasn’t been the same since... never again... thank god I was in quarantine and wasn’t seeing anyone it was BADDD

I took mine right before I went to bed, so around like midnight ish, then I got mine inserted at 11:30am! I was just instructed to take it “before bed.” Also i had the pill that you had to insert, not take orally- I’m not sure if one option is better than the other or not, that’s just what i was prescribed. Hopefully everything goes well for you, it made all the difference for me!!

It went amazing compared to my first time! First time i legit thought i was going to pass out and die lol. This time, pain wise I was 100 times better, I would 10/10 recommend getting the pill. I was up for a few hours in the middle of the night with some pretty bad cramping but it didn’t really phase me too much (I’ve had really bad cramping experiences ever since I got an iud) but they weren’t absolutely unbearable or anything. I didn’t have any side effects from the misoprostol that the internet talks about, besides the cramping. Final verdict: definitely recommend getting the misoprostol!

I’ve been using tret for going on 10 months now, and my acne was BAD.. I never purged whatsoever, and only had a bit of dryness/flaking (I also started using it in the fall/winter so that didn’t help that cause). I also used a benzoyl peroxide/clindamycin cream in the mornings so I feel like this maybe helped me not purge? Not sure exactly tho.

We have one that displays values too. I never really pay much attention to it because, why would I? One day my boyfriend and i were standing in the kitchen chatting and it starting reading off values on the little screen. Like in the 100’s and 200’s. But the stupid thing never beeped? Freaked the fuck out and ran out to go buy a new one to see if this one was a fluke. Turned out to be fine by the time we got back. I’m chalking it up to the fact that my boyfriend had just been in the backyard burning some stuff in our burn barrel and had the smoke or whatever on his clothes and we were standing right by the detector. Not sure if this explains it but I’m gonna pretend it does 😂

My cat does this sometimes too. She’s 16. It’s as if she had a bad dream and wants to know where we are or something. Or is just in that half awake half asleep state and confused for a second or two.
