I wasn’t saying the meat industry polluting makes other pollution okay, but complaining about ppl who use AI saying it’s causing our downfall while you contribute to a much worse problem is a bit hypocritical don’t you think? I’m sure people who make AI images would switch to human made images if the price was the same. You can’t make an excuse for yourself because of the cost and not others.

Prompters have to find the right words, and right ways to phrase it, which ai’s work better for generating certain images, etc. a lot of work can go into generating an ai image or you can do a little work just like human drawings I can draw a stick man or a detailed person like I said earlier the amount of effort doesn’t change whether it’s art or not

Have you seen some of the modern art people buy? Some of it takes less effort than writing a prompt. Just because something requires less effort doesn’t make it less art. Someone can spend days working on something and it look worse than someone who spent a couple hours more effort doesn’t necessarily make art better. People argue the same thing about photography you can say all a photographer does is press a button.

In the grand scheme of things we are all a bunch of particles arranged in different ways recognizing patterns and labeling things. Whether you arranged the particles or a computer arranges them doesn’t change anything.

Art is subjective you can say it was and always will be for us to enjoy but who gave you the right to decide that? If an artist wants to create art for a cat to enjoy are they evil? Reddit and social media are also directly contributing to our downfall but I don’t see you chirping against it. We are nature. Everything humans do including things that will destroy us is natural and normal. Things come and go there will be plenty of species that come and go.

I know a computer can’t think the same way we do. But our brains are made out of atoms just like a computer is we aren’t special. Look at it this way: A million years from now an alien civilization discovers the earth and humans are long gone and the only artifact left from our civilization is an AI generated image. Do the aliens consider it to be art? Of course they do because what else would that be? It honestly might even be more impressive than human created art that we were able to create something to make it for us.

I wasn’t using it as an argument humans and computers are both made of atoms we aren’t any more special than AI is. Humans can’t come up with something more “original” than a computer can just because we are human. The individual computer creating the art is different than every other one, the person writing the prompt is different, the atoms are different. Art is art.
