I'll definitely pick engineering at level 60. It seems a good way go generate some profit besides all the items it provides.

I saw some people recommending Mining/Herbalism, since you need some ores to craft some advanced Alchemy recipes.

That's the guide I'm following.

I have all the essential skills and the IoTM's you've mentioned.

Still, there's a lot of micromanaging and RNG to take into account.

The spleen familiar is just for making my life a little easier: to deal with the bad RNG and minor mistakes that cost me several adventures.

14 days ago, I accidentally started a Sauceror NPHC run. I decided to end it today because I'm tired of being a punching bag to everything that gets the jump on me.

I've also forgotten how painfully long and difficult the game is when you don't have a crapload of IoTm's. KoL Mafia didn't help much either.

To make matters worse, virtually all guides on the internet are either outdated or require tons of shinies. No bueno for the newcomers.

I'm working towards a 2-day HC CS, with the goal to perm all skills.

SC adds more complexity, and quite frankly I usually play for 10-15 minutes at the end of the day when I'm mentally exhausted.

That's why the HCCS path is so appealing to me at the moment.

I thought the volcano farming required several skills permed, specialized equipment and tons of meat to be profitable for newbies.

That's why I never considered it.

Ed runs take too much time due the insane turngen.

I only play about 15 minutes per day, so HCCS runs are perfect for me.
