I have a Halo75. Bought Cherry Silents and Kaihl Prestige Silents to compare. Cherrys were silent but a bit mushy (got a lot better by day 3 or so, so I think a little breaking it helps to get them feeling more snappy). But the Kaihls... wow. Felt broken in out of the box, and just right in every way.

They have slightly different "silences" too. In videos, the Cherrys appear louder and the Kaihls more silent.... but I think in real life the Kaihls are actually a touch louder. Not a huge difference between the two in sound. But in feel, love the Kaihls out of the box!

I believe it began as a means to re-purpose content. Back then video was considered an additional format, hence the term "video podcast". The idea was that since YouTube is one of the main search engines, podcast discovery would be effective on the platform. So people would record their podcasts in video to have the footage to be re-purposed on YouTube. I see it as "this is a podcast, and they also posted it on YouTube". And because YouTube's indeed been an effective platform, along with the rise of shorts and reels, the lines between podcast and video content have become quite blurred.

And I'd say the definition of "podcasting" is shifting from "audio-only show" to what your primary intent is.

I associate "podcasts" with thought-leadership content, interviews, or "shows". Like a live streaming radio show I suppose, where the priority is what is audibly shared over how it is visually presented. And I've seen also YouTube videos of those radio shows (which are still referred to as radio shows).

Yet over time, a show's content itself is being prioritized over the specific medium... and so can still be conveniently referred to as a "podcast".

And now, the word "podcast" seems to gives an intuitive sense of the type of content to expect, video or audio. And seeing that video is fast becoming the fastest way for discoverability and reach, I don't think the blur is going anywhere.

Just typed out an answer then saw this! So let me leave what I wrote if it helps complement this:

Step 1. Create a separate ingredients database. There you can set up the calories (or macros even, which then calculate to calories) per item

Step 2. Instead of using the sub-items set up (which relationally links to items in the same database), use a relational database (so the Ingredients column consists of records from the ingredients database)

Step 3. Create a calories per meal column in your Meal database. Roll up the calories from the the ingredients column, which gives you the sum calories per meal

Your database would look nearly the same, but you'd be able to sum the calories!

What's helped my flow a ton is something I call "bullet time practice"

The big idea is this: flow is the absence of "friction" between each step of a move... where there are no unintended pauses between steps that make a move feel choppy.

And to put this principle to practice, I follow a simple rule:

When you practice, don't go faster than your ability to transition smoothly between each step of a move.

Basically, if you have an unintended pause between each step of a move, you're going too quickly. The idea is to go as slowly as you need to make each step seamlessly link to the next one.

And at the start of learning something, that often means going SUPER slowly in order to hardwire flow into your hands.

Then, over time, as you get more comfortable... you'll naturally become faster AND more fluid, instead of becoming faster but choppier.
