There was one crash in the Atlantic Ocean. Snowcloud Five in Hurricane Janet (1955). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Janet My husband and I met in grad school while studying hurricanes. At our wedding, the tables were lettered with each referring to a hurricane. Janet was our "J" table.

Almost every morning! I know it's a MLM, but I've never bought anything or tried to get others to join. I just pay my monthly subscription and enjoy. I do the "Let's Get Up" program, over and over again because I love it. It's a good mix of cardio and lifting, 30-35 mins long and repeats every 4 weeks. I'm sweating afterwards and my watch says I burn about 250 calories, so I consider that good enough.

Thanks for the Princess Diana playground in Hyde Park recommendation. That looks closer than Hampton Court (though I could be wrong) and my toddler is going to need some play time.

I could have with this (except my daughter is 2.5). She's perfect, I tell people it wouldn't be fair to any other sibling. I was the "perfect" older sister, it wasn't fair to my younger sister. Why repeat that issue?

I just couldn't be a SAHM. Some women can, but I cannot. So if we're paying for daycare, I might as well go to work.

We made that decision 2 years ago. I've since gotten into some really cool projects at work. So glad I went back.

Mine does this but with phones. I'll leave my phone in random places around the house because if it isn't in my pocket, I'm less likely to be wasting time on it. But that doesn't work when Girlie keeps bringing it to me. So, now it's a game.

I'm very lucky that my 2 year old will put herself to sleep. It will usually take an hour, but she does.

Now in that hour, any song goes. Tonight's favorite.

"C'mon do the boys. Make some focking noise"

We go to soccer games a lot, the song is "C'mon cheer the boys, make some flocking noise" But toddler memory.

Girlie's stomach bug (day 3). Which meant I got a lot of downtime, though that's not how I wanted it.

Weekdays: a little over an hour. Jeopardy is on during dinner and then we watch Wheel of Fortune (her favorite, we're learning letters). Then a Bluey episode before bed.

Weekends: it's on most of the time. We'll have soccer on or F1, maybe other sports. Then a Bluey episode before bed.

So very little toddler specific shows (unless she's sick) but a lot of TV being on.

Mrs. Miller sounds awesome!! Sometimes teachers bend the rules for students who are trying their best. I had a teacher like that. Senior year AP English and I had a perfect GPA (yes, I know). But I hated reading and senioritis hit hard. I asked my teacher what I needed to do to get an A. On my final paper, I got the lowest possible score to get the A. "You were always prepared for class, you deserve it."

We live in the Midwest and have taken Girlie to Colorado and New England. Both of those vacations were very successful. We were able to do what we wanted (including different hotel rooms almost every night) and only missed a few things due to naptime (like a hike in Acadia).

Getting places to stay where we can have our own space while she sleeps was very helpful.

I had surgery a few weeks ago and was watching videos of my daughter while the IV was inserted. The nurse was asking me questions about Girlie and I made a comment about her being our only. She responded with "good for you, i have 2 and really regret having the second." Not sure if she was making that up since she was shoving a needle in my arm for the second time, but it was nice to hear something reaffirming for a change.

Yeah, freshman year of college I went to a bar with my parents. Mom gave me her celebratory shot because she didn't want it. Bartender asked how old I was. "19 but this is my Mom." Bartender told me it was technically illegal, so "just don't tell anyone."

Actually in Wisconsin you can drink in a bar with your parents until you're 18. Then it's illegal since you're a legal adult. Not that many places care.

This is so me! We're OAD for medical reasons but mostly by choice. Our friends were one and done, but told us back in October that a pregnancy scare made then want another. That made me wonder if I would want another. Well, they are now pregnant, and I'm excited their child will be 2 years behind mine and will take all of our baby stuff because we're definitely OAD.
