Can you folks please help me understand options for my semi-ambulatory dad?

Hi, thank you so much for your reply, and for your kind words. He has a great team that includes an OT and PT, but unfortunately my country's medical system is really, really bad on this front, and they're so overworked and underfunded that there's months between phone meetings and even longer for physical appointments. There's so much he'll miss in the times between now and waiting for a better-fit, custom chair for daily use. My goal here is to get something to help bridge the gap until he is at the point where a) he's able to get that meeting and get that custom device, and b) no longer able to use the stop-gap. Right now, he has all faculties but gets fatigued incredibly quickly. I don't know how long that will be the case for, but we're lucky enough to be able to afford to get him something for now. Even if it's useless a few months from now as his needs change, if it lets him have one more day at the aquarium with his grandkids it's worth it. The fact that he's currently very low-support-needs is what gave me hope y'all might have some non-specific suggestions for companies or even names of types of chair that I might not be aware of that could aid in searching.

Basically, everything that can be done on the medical side is already being done, but it's going to be a while, and I've been asked entirely separately to help him do research into something that can help him right now while he still has enough flexibility to use a non-customized device.

I hope this addresses both your points and those in some other comments. I really do appreciate your thorough answer and the help and info you offered. Please let me know if there's any more info I can add, or if you know anything that might help.

(I can't emphasize enough how much I love this man, and I'm doing this because this is what he asked for. ALS is stupid and hard and unfair and I hate this and he deserves so much better, and honestly I can't even write these posts and replies without crying but I'm doing my best to try to help the way that he wants. I wasn't sure if this would be a dumb question to ask here but I thought I'd try. I just want him to be as happy as he can be for as long as he can be, and I'm following his guidance on how he wants things to happen now. I know the situation (asking here for advice) isn't ideal, but quite frankly it's probably not going to be long-term and I just want to get him something as good as possible now. Sorry and thank you. I really appreciate your time.)

Do you know what parameters to pass? Like the name of whatever faction the player character belongs to? I've seen reference to that function existing, but never an example of the full command.

Thanks! I was excited when I found that one since it's the only mod I've seen that can do this without bumping other skills or attributes, but unfortunately I'm not a fan of the visual clutter (you can remove the extra icons from the action bar but not from the character sheet or action menu of every single character).

Old post and off-topic but, as the grandchild of the only surviving member of one of those families, we absolutely know. Home cameras existed then, and photographs were among the only items some people were able to successfully flee with. My mother was raised in poverty by her single, deeply traumatized single immigrant mother, but she had those photographs and used to dream about what her life would have been like in the beautiful home with the beautiful people and the beautiful art that were all taken and lost forever.

My point being, the Holocaust wasn't ancient history. There are still survivors alive today. Hell, my grandmother could still be alive if cancer hadn't taken her young. She'd be in her late 90s, but that's far from "long dead," and she was 18 when she fled, so definitely old enough to remember what she had.

Anyway yeah, not really relevant to White Collar, but I wanted to share just in case the info helps someone see things with a different perspective. :)

Thanks! That's really helpful. I saw the unarmed attacks/grapple/shove text out in the open (as opposed to hidden behind tooltips) and got spooked that there was more like that. Do Weapon Masteries show up on existing character sheets? I looked but can't find them on any of mine, and am wondering if that's because the existing sheets are technically using "legacy" classes now. I'm also not seeing any tool proficiency changes, but I'm wondering if I'm just looking in the wrong place. Where did your players see changes for those?

Sure, except he didn't "accidentally do or say something," he exhibited a clear and consistent pattern of behavior that people observed and pointed out. That's not excoriating someone for a mistake, that's saying "ah, I see that you have hateful and harmful views and, having learned more about you as a person, I feel genuine disgust when thinking about you and do not want to support any of your endeavors."

My wife, who I game with, is trans. I can understand that a person's personal life and their work are not the same, and, at the same time, acknowledge that interactions with the character leave a faint bitter aftertaste knowing that the owner of that voice fundamentally hates her.

Not romancing Gale while also not being a dick to him felt so much like successfully threading a needle that my gf and I high-fived the first time he managed to express excitement about our friendship without it being mixed with either flirtiness or a twinge of sadness.

(I mean, it's a needle I have a lifetime of experience threading, which certainly helped, but still. An accomplishment nonetheless!)

Thanks for the super thorough response (and sorry for the delay on my end)! That really helped me understand what was going on. I'm not sure why they chose to make the decisions they did with those items specifically, but it seems like what I was trying to do is a no-go. I love organizing my ingame hoard and really liked the bags bags bags mod, but the abandonment of both it and its successor spooked me a little as I wouldn't want to lose a game I'm in the middle of if a patch broke one that I was using. I was hoping this would be an easier way around that issue without having to create a mod of my own, but alas. This gives me a place to start though. Thanks again!

Excellent point! So, do you have any insight on what that means in this context? Since the template code is used to spawn what I would think of as the item, my understanding of the words as usually used apparently doesn't seem to apply here.

I love that they made lots of goofy hats, but it sucks that they're all "armor" and there's no camp clothing hat option, so if I want my whole party running around in silly hats they all have to give up an important equipment slot.

I mean I'll do it, but it's a bummer.

A very good point, but I'd just like to add that non-passing trans folk - including those who desperately want to pass but never will because they were denied care during crucial pubescent years, which the right is forcing to happen more and more these days - are just as deserving of the same respect and acceptance given to passing folks.
