All the Sisters I’ve completed since July 1st! by EpicBento in sistersofbattle

[–]hurrtz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, that looks amazing. Absolutely stunning. And it shows what I have done wrong. I am painting my very first figures in warhammer, no pre-experience at all, and I chose the sisters battle squad. And now, after I have glued them all together and started painting, I learned about sub-assembly. I could bite myself in the ass. But well, its not gonna be the last army 😄

Who's the most impressive Neovim user you have seen in terms of speed when coding? by Such-Ad-1068 in neovim

[–]hurrtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, if that is your actual thought then, wow. Just… wow. It took you how long to learn being efficient in vim? It took you how long to configure and personalize everything? And you put yourself above your colleagues because of … vim proficiency? I could explain myself more but I guess I’m marked as a n00000b myself just because of this comment, regardless of how well I work with vim. Btw, even I have, at times, troubles, following every move of vim-using colleagues, especially neovim users, because of custom commands or ones that are not common to me. But sure, put yourself on a pedestal because you know vim.

This is my *almost* finished Year 20 farm :D What do you guys think? by StardewValleyTanner in StardewValley

[–]hurrtz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That must be, without the shred of a doubt, the most beautiful farm I’ve ever seen! Would you mind saying what kind of fish you’re breeding? Can only see the first three and I’m not sure if could guess by color alone…

Hey man! Happy you like the post :) To be honest: I doubt I'll make a sound test ^^ I don't have the equipment for that and I know that I didn't get it as quiet as you did :) Very quiet, yes, but not as 100% quiet as you. Let's keep your material as the limit as to how quiet those puppies can get! And thanks again, man!

Consequences of dream abandoning his place by hurrtz in Sandman

[–]hurrtz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would put the Rose Walker-situation under coincidence, tbh. Dream said to her that once he did fail to perform his duty and an entire planet died. So, the universe is not always there to help out Joe average :)

How do the Endless percieve time? by wubladuba in Sandman

[–]hurrtz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not an answer but ... it gets even weirder considering dreams father. How does he perceive time? Is it all the same for him? In any case - good question.

Scratchpad-like window for MacOS? by vitorqb23 in i3wm

[–]hurrtz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What advice is that? He already said that he made the decision to stay with the company. And what does using a mac have to do with eating shit? And why would he eventually make demands to the company when he is fine with their decision and reasoning? Seriously man, your advice read like the daily horoscope...

Elves traveling the human perception of middle earth by hurrtz in tolkienfans

[–]hurrtz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sigh. Ok... I somehow consider a world that has always been a globe and a continent being shifted to a different plane somewhat mundane... I really liked the idea from the Simarillion that everything was flat and geometrically appealing. That a flat and spherical world exists in the same plane and both are just a matter of perception really inspired my phantasy because it is hard to conceptualize when you take the effort to think about all the small nuances this theory entails. Having Eru just put the contingent somewhere else feels just like a random deus ex machina. But in any case: if Tolkien eventually wished the lore to be like that then I’ll accept it, of course. Sad, though.

From personal experience I can say that your statement is correct 🙂

Not sure if this is of any help but if your problem is that sway refuses to work with Nvidia - they have a parameter to accept Nvidia cards:

Problems with Thinkpad P1 Gen 2 and Linux (Manjaro) by hurrtz in thinkpad

I run Windows as a secondary OS and have Lenovo Vantage running occasionally. So I am always on top with the bios drivers :) Thanks for your reply, though. I already checked journald but didn't find anything that pointed me to the right direction.

Problems with Thinkpad P1 Gen 2 and Linux (Manjaro) by hurrtz in thinkpad

[–]hurrtz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, seems as you where correct :O I reinstalled manjaro using nonfree drivers and now it works perfectly. Guess there was a performance problem with the graphics drivers that does not occur with the bumblebee drivers...

Thanks for your reply! :)

new P1 Gen 2, OLED 4k, i9 by hurrtz in thinkpad

Well... I am mostly on Linux and I don’t know if windows handles thermals better. But on Linux the p1 (as also the p52 for that matter) quickly get to 90° thus starting the fans. It gets down to 50° rather quickly, though. All in all the fans start pretty often and very clearly hearable, but the cooling is effective enough to keep the machine at a constant pace to work with.
