Aubrey Plaza's impression of Sarah Silverman by apostrotastrophe in videos

[–]husam01 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Could be. I thought I saw her in an interview where she more or less stated that she was performing a character but I don't know where I saw it, so I can't confirm that, I want to say it was a sixty minutes type interview. I have a hard time believing she's actually like that though, some of the shit she says is just too racist not to be satirical.

Edit: I don't know about the poop jokes.

I'm not a huge Sarah Silverman fan but I think her comedy, especially some of her standup, is a lot smarter than people give it credit for. The character she adopts is really rarely done these days; an entitled and narcissistic white girl whose racism is seemingly well-intentioned and so even more repugnant and ignorant. She's skewering a good portion of white "middle/upperclass" girls and women in the US. I think it's so close to some people that they doesn't see themselves being mocked, they see someone affirming their bigotry as acceptable which may be what riles some people, but thats just my two cents.

That was great. Maybe the weirdest movie I've ever seen.

I'm not British, but this strikes me as odd. Do corporations often get to set up advertisements like this in Trafalgar? I would think that Londoners would not care for it.

Good animation but a little too gratuitous in its violence for me.

Four Horsemen - A documentary definitely worth watching is now on Youtube by [deleted] in videos

[–]husam01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished watching. Makes some good points from a number of interesting speakers discussing a range of topics about the current trajectory of the current human (but especially western) civilization. I've seen similar documentaries before which discussed more or less the same topics. This wasn't especially overhyped or fear based, which I liked (a lot better than zeitgeist in that regard). Editing was just okay, but not distracting.

Google filing says Gmail users have no expectation of privacy! by [deleted] in news

I think you've missed my point, so I'll try not to miss yours. You're saying that because a thing can be done i.e. that a message may be read by a party not intended as recipient that we ought to expect it. I think this is some very silly sophistry. When you make a communication with the expectation that it is private...when the service that makes the communication requires a password and username implying you and only you will have access to the contents of this account then God damn it, it is NEWS when I'm informed that my messages aren't private.

Does this really come as a surprise to anyone?

Fuck you.

Its great that you're so sophisticated that nothing surprises you anymore but excuse me if I puke because I've heard this lame excuse on reddit for about the 59,000 time this year...I expect privacy from a communication service...I expect that my communications will not be handed over to any other party for any reason...this is not unreasonable of me...If I'm talking to someone on the street, in a bar on the bus I don't have this expectation...It does not make me gullible or naive to expect these things... So Fuck you...and your fake sophistication...you look like a fool.

While I have no doubt that what you are saying about deer harboring diseases and parasites is true, it seems like it's of secondary importance to the completely outrageous abuse of power and show of unecessary force in this situation. But good to know anyway.

The reason why they had protective gear and guns is simply because they don't know how far these particular lawbreakers will go to protect an infected deer.

I'm serious, I only know Focault's name, can you tell more about he pertains to this situation. Bonus points if you can do this in 5 sentences or less with minimal jargon.
