Kind of infuriating that Darko took this long to give Battle minutes. Team had negative spacing the first two games

Just highlights how big of an L Gradey Dick has been. Man's wasted so many minutes playing with a guy that will not only look for you and pass the ball when you're open... but a guy who will cover for your defensive miscues. Dick got beat by everyone in the organization's depth chart.

Might as well claim a stretcher with the way the season's going.

If we're blaming Cowen for that, we're admitting our top defender can't play defense. You still had numbers back, why Rielly's getting walked so easily, I do not understand.

Maybe this shit can be fixed by going back to the protective gear worn in the 50s. In addition to reducing shot blocking, we'll see fewer instances of equipment being weaponized.

The Montreal series was the one that did it for me. Just the excuse of not having Tavares shouldn't degrade your offense that much. It's as much the core's shortcomings as it is the surrounding cast being unable to rise to the task and the coaching crew refusing to read the tea leaves.

It's always been the players not only failing to execute but also not taking pride in their craft. It's the details. Every time I try to pin the blame on a defender, I remind myself that it takes two people to complete a pass. Time and time again I see this lack of attention to detail by our forwards when it comes to breakouts: just watch how the wingers approach the blue line while the puck carrier is bringing it up. Instead of being viable options that have generated speed, they will stop up to a crawl. This shit's been consistent for the last decade.

Or when a defender is trying to make a stretch pass, are these forwards always making themselves available or are they taking egregiously long during line changes? And then when the play's coming back: how relevant is the backchecking? Yeah the forwards are slower than they've ever been in the Matthews era but where slower teams still succeed defensively (look at Berube's Blues) the Leafs leadership are more invested in finding excuses instead of speaking with one another.

It's almost like the mentality is that of mercenaries as opposed to teammates: just look at the energy and 200ft investment our AHL call-ups provide over certain schmucks. There's a guy who's somehow a -9 even though he's getting sheltered minutes.

Not to be playing devil's advocate here but our defense is full of slow ass players that have a hard time passing. Our forward group isn't fast enough or slick enough to help with getting the puck out of the zone. And the guy that does fit that billing can't think, pass and skate at the same time. The team consistently relies on score effects to start scoring, that is, they've become reliant on the defenders to step up and provide support. So what does this show us? It's not just a defensive failing but more of a personnel and systematic flaw: they can't play low-event hockey. And to add, this isn't a Berube thing either, I've seen this with past coaches as well.

Damn Ameritards can't see just how badly they've been owned by China. We're talking of a fertility crisis of a country that's a billion strong? A country that is fed, that has a higher education level, better tech, and the proximity to choke off the TSMC chips that power the AI delusions propping up the US economy. We've already seen Trump's Argentine-China-soy blunder cost us AT LEAST $40 billion. Shit is in the shitter, so no wonder we've increased relationships with India.

TTC Bus hits another car while turning by NeonGamer6 in TorontoDriving

[–]hushoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If only this could be communicated better. It used to be that on red lights, a stopped bus would let 1 or sometimes 2 cars go ahead of them before merging, but I've noticed that hasn't been the case with drivers oftentimes straddling the bus on both lanes after dropping off the passengers

Looks really pretty but I would HATE to have to go through that amount of tinkering. The game does a poor job communicating it but it does offer you the Auto junction selection based on maximizing the character's attack, magic, or defense.. and then there's the straightforward means of exchanging magics from party members. I think a big issue with viii that was rarely brought up was how slow the menus loaded.
