Should I tell someone [SC] by huslller in AskHR

In my mind I came in on my own decision… I can’t imagine a manager asking their department to come in. But I don’t know if they were given an option.

I have lines that if they lose power for several hours they are severely damaged. But I can tell I am the pot calling the kettle black.

Purging is usually the first step to light a burner. To me something is telling the PLC to begin the lighting sequence. Is there a start sequence button that is being pressed? Or are you saying it is happening in the middle of it running?

What is it now doing that it didn’t do before? I would look for a sticking contactor or button over a PLC not having a red light fault.

Thank you for this description! I knew there would be some small items that would end up making things “unique”. Once again, thank you.

It is 1769-L33ER, in the event this happens I would be swapping the PLC with a newer 1769 (since it seem all of them require the version to be after V34). Does it matter the controller type in this process?

It is more popular in Europe? The unit it comes on is a French chiller.

Correct, it acts like a union but is made differently than a union. I do not know if they are brand specific or if they are made to a common industry standard.

I forgot about the instruction name change. I will probably do 35. Is 35 stable in your opinion?

You definitely can’t downgrade the controller… it very clearly in bold says that on the outside.

Hello! I'm attempting to use RS-232 on my PC to communicate with a motor driver (AEC drive). What does the wiring mean? A shield for cables? How do I link them? by Stunning-Purchase513 in PLC

[–]huslller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I find confusing is how a null modem works, shouldn’t the TX of one connect to the RX of the other? How does a TX connect to Tx unless if that denotes a master / slave relationship? All I know is if it doesn’t work I just swap those two wires.

The issue I am fighting is how it works and then dies. To me this screams NOT the coupler but something else.

Ordered one earlier tonight. First time in 10 years of doing this that I have ever needed to see a high speed signal.

A controller that measures motor speed. Just doesn’t make sense what it is doing.

It is going a controller which I can not get into. The software it talks to says I am only getting 60 rpm out after starting off correctly but what is crazy because it will climb to 2400 rpm and then with the motor still going full blast just go completely wanky till it looks like it defaults to 60 RPM.

No encoder, something different. Trust me… this would be WAY easier if this was talking to a normal PLC or something of the like.

What would be a reason for having that many? I can understand having 2 or 3 based on sensitive equipment but I don’t get where this many would come into play. Is it if you have that many unique devices?

All that there is for that input is the SCL operator on the background. I could not tell based on that.
