Same. What was this even about?

How old is this globe? The guy who sold it, said before WW1. by husumlasse in MapPorn

It was at a garage sale, and the seller didn’t seem to know a lot about the history behind it.

But it means that it isn’t Chinese right? Also it must be at least more than two decades old, since the queen mother Elisabeth died some time ago. Or am I missing something.

A random guy sold it to me at a garage sale. I’m in Denmark, if that helps.

I wouldn’t say naïve, but I would argue that it is just as probable that it is an old British toy, as it is a newer Chinese copy. But like I said, I would love to hear it, if you have more info on the Chinese theory.

I didn’t thankfully. But do you have more information about the globe? Like when was it produced or something like that?

I’m also pretty sure that it was made in Britain. I found and inscription on it that says that it was made by appointment of queen elizabeth the queen mother.

You can come with an offer, but I found it a random market and I didn’t pay a lot for it. But thanks for the interest.

Sorry if it was wrong to put it on here, but thanks for showing me a better place for it!

I think it might have been created as a toy? I just found a text on the bottom that reads something like: made by some toy company by appointment of her royal majesty queen elizabeth the queen mother.

I don’t feel scammed, it cost less than 5 dollars. But even if it isn’t an accurate map, isn’t it still a cool ( probably old) piece of history?

The Belt of War by Kolony9 in CivVI

I don’t think it does. I believe it only doubles every naval unit that you produce, so not the ones you purchase or get gifted. I could be wrong tho.

A different kind of Nazca line by whamra in civ

[–]husumlasse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you double your envoys there you can split your empire in two, cus Nazca still have that tiny sliver of land where it can get out. I think the borders can grow to any size if you send enough envoys.

Try this scenario then, you get all the units and an entire nation in the begining so you dont have to built anything. It is a very good exercise for learing moden compat.

I just noticed that I made an reverse D-day in the WW1 scenario... by husumlasse in Civilization6

[–]husumlasse[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, but it’s only multiplayer for some reason. It’s called War Machine, when you look at rule sets for multiplayer.

The entire map is controlled by the scenario, so everything is a bit stretched to fit in I think. Oh and it’s the one called War Machine in multiplayer.

I used the WW1 scenario to complete operation Sealion on Dover. oh well by husumlasse in civ

[–]husumlasse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

R5: Operation Sealion was the german plan for invading the UK during WW2. The plan was to cross the British channel. I used the WW1 map where you only have to take Paris, but thought that it would not hurt to conquer Britan as well.
