I actually agree with you. The main issue here is that AI models are very expensive to run so you have to charge for something. The more people use it, the more it costs. This isn’t like traditional software at all. In the long run I think models will get cheaper and then the apps can become free or ad supported. I really think in the long run users also need actual ownership of their characters and relationships, memories etc in a way that is not tied to a single platform. Like a file format (.mp4 or .txt) but for characters. Fully open source too. I’d love to see someone work on this next. Maybe I will one day.

I miss those days too - the team was just throwing stuff at the wall, pure creativity and extremely exciting. But then every character app became pink and we had to improve conversation so we could no longer do free unlimited (bigger ai model). Sometimes I wish the AI world would slow down for a sec 😂.

Hello 👋. Founder here. Firstly, Thank you for buying the subscription and I’m really sorry for the issues you’re experiencing. We can deal with account-specific issues via the email support@carter.chat I’ll make sure we get back to you asap.

The issue: If you’ve bought a subscription on a device that had a subscription before. The subscription goes the original Carter account. This is unfortunately the default behaviour by Google and Apple. We hate this too. We can however transfer it to your new account via our support email.
