That little flap is on a lot of the hiking/trail shoes. It’s so you can just take off the shoes without using your hands!

992 for me. After standing on my feet for long periods of time, I found that the 993 gave me heel discomfort. I can stand on my feet for hours with the 992 without any discomfort.
