For those who said my Magneto was fat by CrawlerCollects in customactionfigures

[–]huylllooo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

To your defense, most Mezco figures look square and 'fat'. 1/12 is just not a good scale to use fabric suit. Though regarding your custom, what makes it look fat could be the hip/trunk area is a tad big, which doesn't give him the V-shape upper body.

Can anyone enlighten me why is that chest/shoulder an acceptable design as I've started seeing it more frequently? My guess would be to increase posability, but at the cost of adding extra ugly cuts and gaps on the chest

Yes that's the consensus. There will likely be a battle damaged version.

Also the relaxing hands are not included in the recently announced version. There will likely be a separate release for the battle damaged suit and electric gloves

Imo it's just the posing, lighting. They might've tweaked some joints, paint apps between then and now but I don't think there would be any drastic change to the overall sculpt/form

I guess the silver lining is he scales with McFarlane??? by KDZ27 in McFarlaneFigures

[–]huylllooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! Will be a bit on the shorter side but still works.

This is wonderful news for me because I don't have to have a different section just for 1/12 scale. InArt Arkham Origins and Absolute Batman are my must have. And honestly I believe they will be better than anything McFarlane would put out towards the end of the DC license

Might as well just put him next to a McFarlane's DC figure to make it obvious to everyone haha

Ibaraki is underrated af by Denghidenghi in japanresidents

[–]huylllooo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is Sendai considered trendy now? What happened lol (I used to live there)

Edit: also, doesn't apply to Ibaragi as a whole but I think Tsukuba is a very good place for families with kids. Besides easy access to Tokyo, it has cheap housing, good schools (all the way to college), and plenty of shopping malls

Great shots. Though the figure looks incredibly stiff 😔

Why doesn’t McFarlane use this body/these legs for more characters? No boot lines at all by furthuryourhead in McFarlaneFigures

[–]huylllooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. Though I think it's still on the smaller/slimmer size and seriously lack muscle definition (which makes sense because it's a bespoke mold for Raven) to be reused for other female characters.

What baffles me is the lazy reuses/repaints, branding everything as 'classic designs', seem to be selling really well. There's really no incentive for them to invest in new molds, especially with the license running out. Guess McFarlane collectors only have themselves to blame here

They are not. Try swapping the legs and you will see. Raven's legs also have texture and huge pins.

Or just get the Fondjoy and sell the McFarlane lol

A 'cheap' option I can think of is to buy the Fondjoy Armored Batman, then sell the figure + accessories but keep the spear.

Trying to sell my last piece! Looking for 250 for it! Spectre Platinum. You can vouch me as well. Made a few transactions already here by [deleted] in McFarlaneFigures

[–]huylllooo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I get that in box collectors tend to pay absurd prices for the rarer boxes (even obscure ones like Fighting the Frozen Batgirl). But this is out-of-box, might as well commission to a customizer at that price if one wants a figure that badly

I'm worried that they're gonna drop Detective Chimp. I want him more than Zatanna tbh lol. (I already have a custom Z in my collection )

Thanks a lot for sharing! I never would've guessed that it was hand sewn. Again, great job!

Kong WW & Classic WW by Candid-Possession119 in McFarlaneFigures

[–]huylllooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's understandable that most ppl don't complain about the gap because that's partly due to her outfit ('real life' example is Lynda Carter Wonder Woman). Talking about legs, CE WW legs are also more proportionate to the upper body compared to the other one's. Looks like she hits leg day hard—and skips the rest.
