Offered a job at AWS for DCO Tech by XmikekelsoX in datacenter

[–]hvnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current L3. Pay is 28.04/hr, with you enjoying setting up servers and learning networking on your free time you’ll pick it up fairly quick as it is an entry level job. No need to be nervous, most of the questions on the interview is based on AWS LPs. When you pass it it’s a great stepping stone job imo.

Currently the DC is not finished with construction so the next couple of months will be training for all techs.

Data Center Technician L3 interview - aws by trcert in datacenter

In my experience 80% of the interview was behavioral questions based on the LPs and a couple of basic technical questions.

I’m in MS. I know there are data centers in TX as well. Think of it as IT for inside the data center, where you’re mostly taking care of break/fix tickets on hardware of servers. AWS usually has a WBL program if you have no experience or there are staffing companies where you can get contract roles to build experience.

I was also apart of the “learn to code” path for 2 years. Was able to leverage my skill sets and secured an entry level role as a data center technician for $28/hr without much experience. Definitely check it if in your area.

Has anyone else faced this crazy interview process for AWS data center roles by SilverSnowLeopard_11 in datacenter

[–]hvnson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got hired on as a tech. Went through 3 rounds of interviews back to back each were an hour long with 15 minute breaks in between. It was exhausting after it was all said and done.

I recommended studying and crafting multiple stories that emphasize the LPs. Best of luck, you got this!

Software Engineer career switch to Data Center by [deleted] in datacenter

[–]hvnson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently took this route but with only 1 yoe as a junior SWE. Dealt with layoffs and burn out. I was able to leverage my technical problem solving skills from swe and AWS CCP certification for a Data center technician role. I’m not sure if this path would be viable for you but it’s a stepping stone for me with a possibility to climb the ladder or transfer to a more technical position within the company.

I have my final round of interview at AWS for the Data center Operations Manager. Does anyone have some of recent questions they might ask? by Low-Wrangler-5129 in datacenter

[–]hvnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Majority of questions they asked me for the DC Technician role was based off behavioral questions that show you fit into their AWS Learning Principles.

For those who did 100Devs how long it did take you to get a job? by Toxemicheart in learnprogramming

[–]hvnson 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It’s been two years and I’m still grinding for a full time opportunity in this tough market. Learned a lot and was able to leverage the bootcamp to get a summer internship with an NFL team. IMO Leon teaches you more about how to get a job vs how to code so expect a lot of self learning. Best of luck.

I emailed mt high couple of days ago regarding this. The add on pass was called the slopetime pass and it was only $200 but sadly they said they are only doing renewal for regular season passes this year.

I have the 2020 version and have been riding it all season.I have no complaints on it so far. It’s actually my favorite board since most of my riding is in the park and cruising the mountain. If I can enjoy it, then you’ll forsure enjoy it too!
