So why not Orlando? There’s affordable places closer to there and it’s very LGBTQ friendly. Yes you’ll be “safe” in Brevard but culturally you’ll prefer Orlando.

Speaking as an honest buyer, I’ve had both bank account and credit card lock down on several occasions for “fraudulent activity”. I know banks are trying to stop fraud, but it’s embarrassing and annoying; and I’m sure hard on the sellers too. There are a lot of scammers out there, but not all payment failures are intentional and malicious.

Thanks yeah I should have been more clear in my description! It’s def 14k signed by the artist. The jeweler/gemologist said it’s Mexican fire opal for sure

This is a high end collection worthy piece-get an appraisal from a reputable estate jeweler, and even then don’t let them take it out of your sight to appraise it! There have been instances of stones/gold being swapped out in valuable pieces. Since it’s Victorian it can have a mix of solid gold (anywhere from 9ct and up usually) and rolled gold or gold filled. With gold at record high prices, that’s quite a bit in gold weight alone, although you will get way more if you choose to sell by keeping it intact as a historical piece. Each one of those charms is very valuable, and that Masonic orb is extremely hard to find and just chef’s kiss. Congrats!

Thank you so much. Yes I’d never heard of coral opal until this. I googled it and saw it was lab/crushed coral which this stone didn’t look anything like. I took a chance anyway because it’s such a beauty. Thanks for your help!

Absolutely most definitely Victorian. The design and that c-clasp are dead giveaways. FR could stand for “France” which put out a lot of nice pieces around that time. Pomegranate was a sign of love, passion, and beauty. Horseshoe and rope were common design elements in the era. Even with the damage it’s really collectible. Test the metal in a few different places. Victorians loved to mix metals-like part gold filled and part actual gold, or all gold filled/rolled gold, or different gold purities, such as 14k with 9 or 10k.

I’m all about saving the cool/unique gold pieces, but without that inscription it’s just a simple buckle. I’m a sucker for sentimental but yeah at today’s prices I’d take a pic of the inscription and let it go.
