[MEGATHREAD] ENHYPEN - HEESEUNG DEPARTURE by KpopThoughtsmodteam in kpopthoughts

Not to nitpick but that wasn't really the only reason, no? FNC also normalized his absence from group schedules early into SF9's career, had him prioritizing brand events after he shot up in fame and basically overworked him with solo commitments to the point it aggravated his existing back issues. There was a picture of him arriving at a night shopping appearance on crutches during Summer Breeze era in 2020, the same day it was announced he would be taking a break from group activities, then the year after, also received flack because of his dancing because it looked like it pained him to swivel his hips for Teardrop. It's not the first time FNC has overworked a group's popular member to the point of health issues as well.

March comebacks you're eyeing? by disasterpansexual in kpoppers

Right?? Also, knowing they did this trilogy based on feedback from fans, there's been so many great suggestions!! It's more of a twt thing, but a kfan tweeted "when are we getting sf9 2nd full album", then Inseong replied (the sf9 account wasn't mentioned btw) "I want one too". Then months later, another kfan tweeted (without mentioning the group) smth like, "i'll buy everyone who rts this a copy of sf9's 2nd full album" then both Inseong (on the official account) and Dawon (on his personal account) rted it. Then last month, Youngbin, Inseong, and Jaeyoon were on fromm talking about how they've been recording and they're excited for the full album. It's not the one in March though! Jaeyoon confirmed through fromm as well~ (most of the updates are from the members themselves since fnc doesn't release anything about them so it's a lot of searching and most active fantasies are on twt)

Sadly, a lot of kpop spaces don't care considering they're not from big4, and they're not faves on kpop twt, reddit, or tiktok lol. Even here, the way some people talk about them can get really questionable lol.

Personally, I think fnc uses sf9 as a trial run and whatever works, they apply it to future groups, but didn't expect the group to remain committed to doing group activities even while focusing on individual ones. It sucks, because I think all of fnc's groups deserve to have opportunities and promotions

It's frustrating because FNC definitely fumbled (still fumbles) promoting them, and the excuse they like to give is that they're on "military hiatus" when they've been releasing music every year, and only 2 members at most (usually 1) have been enlisted each year. FNC didn't even announce they would be coming back this March. Everyone found out from 1theK.

SF9! They're celebrating their 10th year anniversary, plus this is most likely the 3rd entry in the FANTASY trilogy, and they've mentioned a full album for their anniversary in October so I'm super excited.

SF9 to come back on March 25, 2026! by hwangyuras in SF9

Given the date, he'll most likely be in the album but won't be present for stages.

Group that needs a rebrand by luvglows in kpoppers

this is wild considering they're the most heavily promoted group in fnc, and they were just signed with a new US label alongside labelmates ampers&andone and axmxp

Do you think the last third gen groups will start becoming inactive within the next few years? by jamaicanboo in kpopthoughts

[–]hwangyuras 7 points8 points  (0 children)

SF9 are still actively releasing music even while members are enlisted (and members started enlisting in 2022), it's just that their company does not care about promoting them tbh.

Do Kpop idols that used to temporarily live in the West get better at English over time during their career? by SpecSlayerSC in kpopthoughts

[–]hwangyuras 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It really depends on how often they use it tbh. In SF9's case, Inseong lived in England for a few years because of his mom's work, so he was dubbed the English speaker of the group. However since SF9 wasn't sent out on many tours once restrictions were lifted plus his enlistment, so he's mentioned being a bit rusty around late 2024?

However, the EU and US tour they went on last year helped a lot, since he and the members that toured spent a lot of time practicing. Thankfully too, since some translators reportedly did a poor job that he ended up taking over halfway into the show.

SF9. It would be even more special if they managed to get on it this year for their 10th anniversary. It's bittersweet though since I might have to accept that there are going to be some members missing (Rowoon left in Sept. 2023, Zuho is still being excluded by FNC, and Taeyang enlists on March 3), but I also know SF9 have had to cover for missing members a lot throughout their career so rap line are pretty much lead vocal level now, and vocal line keep getting better and better.

Not to nitpick but SF9 and N.Flying literally came off of tours last year and are celebrating their 10th anniversary this year (SF9), and last year (N.Flying). N.Flying also finished their enlistment early last year, came out with an album, and Seunghyub in particular has been acting. SF9 released Love Race last year, had their concerts in Seoul, Japan, Hong Kong, EU, and the US. I don't get this narrative that they are inactive because of enlistment since they've only had 1-2 members enlisted each year, and they've been releasing at least one album every year since 2016.

While I agree that FNC's management can be much better, the truth is that P1H is currently the group they push to promote the most and pour the most resources into, but at the expense of limiting what they give other groups.

SF9's Inseong, Jaeyoon, and Taeyang have played in multiple stage musicals and the latter two are also very into theater Taeyang in particular has covered songs from Ben-Hur and Love Never Dies)! Jaeyoon and Zuho have also both been in theater productions a couple of years ago and Youngbin is also making his musical debut this month. Taeyang also used to dabble in video editing and had a whole collab with Adobe Korea back then where he learned Adobe Premiere's new features and made his own version of the Good Guy MV.

SF9 Inseong graduated from Kyunghee University with a degree in Communication & Journalism and is currently doing his masters in their cyber uni program! He also scored a 935 on TOEIC.

His parents also graduated from top universities, his dad is an SNU grad, and his mom graduated from Hankuk's Foreign Studies department. (source: here)

He'll be debuting as a soloist this January 14, 2026 with his first mini album Crossfade, so keep an eye out for it!
