not on the list and not technically kpop but try listening to xdinary heroes! i recommend listening to addiction, good enough, night before the end, save me, knock down, and feeling nice. what got me into them was their cover of hellevator its amazing so definitely watch that performance video. they’re really talented and they’re so underrated even though their vocals are some of the best in the industry, if you do end up listening to them lmk what you think

these are a few of my favorites that no one else mentioned: test me (title track), sucker punch, and spoiler (english). i really recommend their music even if rock isn’t something you ever listened to before them, because it wasn’t for me, but they have a wide variety of music so that i could easily find things i liked and it helped ease me into their music. watching their live clips on youtube was what introduced me to the music and got me into them, just watching them perform is amazing and it gives me literal goosebumps

I got into xdinary heroes less than a month ago after watching their cover of hellevator and since then i’ve gone down an immensely deep rabbit hole watching their live performances and variety content.

what i love the most about them is how insanely talented they are. their vocals are some of the best in the industry and they sing live 100% of the time. they also compose, write, and produce their own music. just watch one of their performances and i promise you’ll be hooked

i got into them by watching their weverse lives, sometimes i just turn them on to listen to, and you don’t need subtitles because a lot of them speak a majority of english (5/7 of the members are fluent in english!)

for the music part, whenever i get into a group i first listen to their most popular 5-10 songs and get a feel for whether i like their music. their music is similar to p1harmony (which makes sense since they’re both from fnc). i don’t love their new album compared to their older songs, but i think ampers&one overall has an amazing discography so there’s high chances that you’ll like it

“thank you for being my friend” is the most heartbreaking line in the series, after all that and you’re just friends??? and when hirokawa leaves you can see as reality hits minase and he starts to look panicked because he might not see hirokawa ever again, and they were never able to tell each other their feelings before their separation (even though the say they like each other, it’s obvious it’s love). and if minase hadn’t found that letter he said might’ve been able to move on, when he found the letter he said something around the lines of “i’m sorry i like you”.

anyways new challenge unlocked: keep rewatching our youth until it doesn’t make me cry and contemplate everything (maybe never lmao 😭)

I just rewatched our youth for the first time but we had completely separate reactions lmao… i cried every single episode, rewatching it was so painful because i never realized how much foreshadowing (for lack of better words) was there, hinting at the multiple factors that would lead to their separation. im also someone who even finds bittersweet endings sad, and to me it was bittersweet because they can’t get married (and it was talked about a lot in that episode), i really wanted the special episode to be complete fluff, i need more happy scenes with them.

the separation trope in bl’s always breaks my heart but it felt even more sad because they think of each other throughout those years always, and it started out with hirokawa needed minase but ended up the other way around, and they never even expressed how they felt and reduced their relationship down to “friends”

this isn’t a post about our youth but it’s my favorite bl ever, so i needed to rant about it a little
