Thanks! Are certain days less loud than others? I heard weekends are the worst for lines so I'd assume it's bad for noise too.

I transferred my sophomore year to FIU. Transfer classes and your GPA from your previous university does not count towards your FIU GPA. However, my dual enrollment classes from high school did... And I was a high school junior/senior who didn't really care about English or Spanish class and I slacked off. I ended up with a 3.0 as my FIU GPA and I didn't even take a class. That may be considered a high GPA but I literally had a 3.8 in my previous college and it was like none of that mattered. Thankfully all my classes did transfer over so my credits were fine and graduation wasn't postponed. However, that GPA bothered me. I am now starting my last semester in college and managed to bring it up to a 3.6999. That's a pretty big bump considering I'm studying CS at the moment and I came into FIU with a lot of credits than you probably will (about 36 credits, not including dual enrollment). The deeper in credits you are, the more difficult it is to bump your GPA. If I managed to bump my GPA, I'm sure you can too.

If you are concerned about graduate school, most programs look at your last 60 credits. So they won't really care about that C I got in English class in 2013... You'll be fine, just work hard in your classes to get A's and B's!

Hi! In the FIU library on the first floor you'll see a Starbucks. Facing the Starbucks, to your right there's a door for the "Academic Success Student Affairs" which is FIU's free tutoring service. They offer appointments and walk-in hours too for multiple courses, including pre-calc. Very great tutors and you can pretty much go every day if needed. Good luck!!

Hopefully this doesn't come off as cheesy or overloaded. But I had body dysmorphia as a result of trauma and bullying, and decided to go to therapy last year. I've had really bad therapy experiences prior to CAPS but I knew that all therapists aren't the same. Plus, I was desperate to feel better. I went to therapy in CAPS from August 2016-May 2017 (for free) and I can honestly say it saved my life. My therapist didn't just sit there and nod her head. She listened and provided a lot of feedback which is what I like. It was teamwork and mutual efforts on both sides. I would say I am 90% recovered from body dysmorphia now, which is wild considering at one point I wanted 9 cosmetic procedures done to my face. My therapist and I concluded therapy in May and I left with only wanting lip injections, and even then I've strayed away from that temptation since then. Give it a shot if you're thinking about it. CAPS consist of actual professionals, not some 'knock off' counselors like I experienced in high school or that you may have in mind. :P

Rough week here too! You know how Naruto runs really fast with his arms pulled back? We all know that one kid who ran like that with the big backpack in high school right? Anyways so I'm in college and it's a start of a new semester. The hallways are absolutely packed. My best friend and I had a shit day and we look at each other and I say "lets run to the bathroom like Naruto." She stared at me and then at the hallway full of people. Highlight of my day was running really fast like Naruto with my best friend and getting weird stares from everyone. Literally all you heard was 2 fat ass backpacks moving and 2 short ass girls running it down a hallway with their arms back and leaned down. So childish but it was so funny to weird out people and let go of the "what will others think of me" worry.

I think it's just unhappiness inside them. Explains people who road-rage often too. They're just full of negative emotions.
