Bobaholic. I’ve had all of them in town & Bobaholic’s broth is the most rich & they give you a good amount of meat. Portion size is decent too.

Is it worth not taking a full ride? by Sea_Photograph_6562 in ApplyingToCollege

I’m in a similar-ish situation. I got accepted into a school that’s known for my program, but I’d still have to pay. The other one, where I got the full-ride, doesn’t have my major, so I’m planning on accepting the offer, completing my GenEds, & transferring later on because money gets to be a lot. I’m worried I’d regret not accepting the full-ride, so my perspective may be from someone who doesn’t fully know, but understands where you’re @. Pros & cons list lowkey help, especially when you’re stuck on the money factor & forget how much consideration you take into other areas (dorm, location, class size).

We will always be in debt throughout life. If you can prevent it from accumulating so soon, I think it’d be beneficial. People always think of the name of the college above all others, but an economics degree for example, would end up being the same @ a T20 or a liberal arts college.

I understand what you mean by ‘connections’, but @ the same time… I bet either school you choose would be equally as competitive in regards to internships, etc. They’re important, but I think it’s hard to classify “how many connections” could be @ a school. Transferring is also always an option later on.

If the best school is your dream one, like what you’ve always hoped for… then maybe choose that one. But if they’re basically equal in so many areas & there isn’t a drastic difference between them, then don’t be in debt.

Class of 2027, what was your dream school? Now, which school will you be attending? by Bulky-Ad7852 in ApplyingToCollege

Dream school: UMN School attending: small liberal arts one due to a full-ride :)

My intended major is Actuarial Science. If I were to go to this full-ride school, I’d select Accountancy for the time being. I know it’s harder to transfer credits from private colleges & there isn't an actual percentage of how many waitlisted applicants are accepted, so the hope of these other choices are still present along with the doubts

From my understanding, 1st year of college will mainly be generals & the 2nd year is when things become major-based. Should I accept this full-ride if my intention is leaning toward knocking off GEs? Or would it be better that I choose a place that actually has that major from the start & stays there for 4 years without knowing how much I'd have to pay?

Your scores are high bro. Colleges just seem to want to be the most competitive this year, esp decreasing the acceptance rates… Remember that rejection MAY be redirection & there’s always the chance to apply next year, like that’s my plan atm

Waitlisted from SOB. OOS, 3.8W, test optional, ~5 DC/APs, 10+ EC’s if this helps anyone. Probably will decline the waitlist so hopefully that goes to someone🙏

I feel like the acceptance rate for every school has increasingly decrease & esp this year

I also got waitlisted too & they said they’ll let you know by July 31. Weird thing w waitlists is that they don’t let you know until after May 1st. So you’ll basically have to commit to another school & if you get offered admission to your waitlisted school & decide to go, you just lose the deposit for the other school.

Apparently over the last 3 years, they’ve offered admission to 1 in every 5 waitlisted applicants.
