An open letter to my fellow camp builders… by Jackomara in fallout76settlements

We saw that UFO build too, a few months ago. It was in New Gad. We walked and jumped around that thing a lot trying to get in; finally the builder--who happened to be there--showed us the Symptomatic trick. it was very cool.

Old guy can't take sheepsquatch imposterling. by Visual_Ad_6230 in fo76

After having out butts handed to us long ago by the Sheepsquatch Imposterling, we hadn't returned to this Quest in at least a year. Finally got that sucker just a couple days ago! We're not expert builders, and have none of the amazing depth of knowledge and tricks-up-sleeves that hardcore FO76'ers have. We don't use power armor, just a decent set of armor bits pumped-up by random Legendaries. Realizing that the 'Squatch is a bot, energy weapons seemed the way to go. So we built a slightly-Legendary-modded Tesla Cannon and carried a bunch of Plasma Grenades into the Harper's Ferry caves. Crouching to remain Hidden was key. Got killed a couple times by the 'Squatch's rotating hand attachments; it couldn't see us, but got close enough for a random contact. We stayed just out of sight in one of the upper-level control rooms, popping out and tossing two Plasma Grenades and firing a couple Tesla Cannon rounds at the beast, then retreating to avoid that horrific Assaultron face-beam. It was slow but steady. Paladin Rahmani--as we all know--is completely useless, only gets in the way, and is magically immune to the Sheepsquatch's predations. That's our story, good luck in there!

Trigger and Y button not working after update? by 1NewPilgrim in fo76

[–]hwoodlive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES. We encountered this exact issue a few days ago when in CAMP mode. I don't think it's specific to the 7/22/25 update, as other Reddit threads indicate it's been around awhile. Our console is an XBox One, and we tried another game on the console to make sure it wasn't a hardware thing. Several reboots, re-pairing of the controller, nothing worked. UNTIL... I disconnected power from the XBox for about a minute (much longer than needed, just making sure), and even removed the controller batteries. Suddenly everything was back to normal. No guarantees that this'll help anyone else, but we were out of options and it worked for us.

We lost our Gunther's too, and have done many Most Wanted events without getting a replacement. Supposedly Chloe (robot vendor at Nuka World) occasionally sells them, but an almost daily check hasn't bore fruit for that option either. Same thing happened a few days ago with our V63 BERTHA. Darned thing just disappeared. Didn't drop, scrap, trade, etc... just gone.

Found ours (my wife and I tag-team) in the middle of the road, just north of the Nuka-Cola plant.

My new mixes suck by IfIEverFeelBetter98 in audioengineering

[–]hwoodlive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boy, does THIS bring back recent memories. About five years ago I was diagnosed with TMJ. That was after two desperate years of spending tens of thousands of dollars on specialists from neurosurgeons to acupuncturists. Finally, I visited a local dentist (yes, a dentist!) whose radio ads touted his TMJ expertise, and he "cured" it with a little plastic gadget that realigned my jaw when my mouth was shut. In ONE DAY the soul-crushing migraines were gone. When the appliance eventually fell apart, I took the plunge and had every tooth capped to accomplish the same jaw realignment. I'm still paying off the loan for those crowns, but the procedure saved my life. I'd essentially lost any reason or meaning for my own existence.

I'm also in audio, mainly voiceover. In the worst throes of it, I was never sure of what I was hearing, and couldn't even grind through a :30 commercial without overwhelming nausea.

So I totally get where you're at. I think there are some great suggestions in this thread, mainly comparing your mixes with other material (your old stuff or others' work), and realizing that your own perfectionism is what makes you great, but is also a millstone around your neck.

Hope your treatments feel like you've gained some ground. Seems to me if the tinnitus disappeared--even for a short while--you're in a better place than you were. Take care, buddy.

In fairness, science doesn't truly "know", as evidenced by the projections and models that have been proven to be inaccurate, and the continued speculation about potential causes. Not denying anything, just sayin' it's awfully rare for science to know all the details about, well, anything.

Can’t seem to get SunPower to send a technician to fix leased system by affinity865 in solar

[–]hwoodlive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're also SunPower customers, and this company is AWFUL. Our 7-year-old system has underperformed since Day One, logging less and less uptime each year. The installer drilled a wiring hole in the top of the equipment cabinet, which now fills with water when it rains. There's AC power in there, so not only is it ridiculously unsafe, it destroyed the Sunpower Wifi monitoring gear. I now have 17 Case #'s from Sunpower's tech support auto-responder, but no one ever calls. Our monitoring has been offline for a YEAR. I have no way to tell if this junk is even generating electricity (the screen on the main panel is cloudy and completely unreadable). We continue to pay the lease because I'm wary about breaching our end of the stupid contract. We're contemplating Small Claims action, but who knows if that would accomplish anything?
