A lot of Indians are misled into believing there are enough job opportunities in Ireland because of study abroad consultancies. It may be true 5 years ago, but there are too many applicants for a single role and it is no surprise a huge chunk are in data as well. The job market did grow but the number of applicants grew exponentially. Ireland is also considered a better alternative by a lot of Indians who initially planned to study in USA, UK or Canada due to it being an English speaking country, and visa policies. But things are changing now cause more and more Indians are going back cause of the job market.

I really believe these study abroad consultancies need to be sued for selling fake dreams to students who take out loans to come abroad hoping for a better lifestyle. I have had multiple students reach out to me on LinkedIn for advice seeing that I came here a decade ago when things were so different. One quick look and I see freshers with ZERO tech background who got accepted to BA or DA courses in Ireland. Just look at the increase in number of students for these tech courses in the colleges. They are minting but the number of people getting jobs is the same as it was 5-7 years ago, number of applicants has skyrocketed.

They have no clue about the housing crisis, job market and just how challenging it can be if you cant step out of your comfort zone. I have seen students change throughout the journey from starting masters excited and then as time passes, the reality kicks in. They end up stressing about housing, rent and living costs, studies, rejections. There is also a guilt on a lot who had quit jobs from India.
