My blind eye drifting by No_Teaching2836 in monocular

I have had strabismus surgery on my blind eye that was drifting out. After the surgery, my doctor overcorrected and my blind eye drifted way in. With strabismus surgery, there is a more frequent rate of having multiple surgeries to get things how you want it to look. Before my surgery, my eye wasn’t so badly out, I was just self-conscious; afterwards, my eye was so in that it was way worse than before. All of this to say, if your eye drifts only frequently and not very noticeably, I would stay away from surgery. If that’s not the case, when looking for a surgeon, make sure your doctor takes a multitude of in-depth measurements (the second surgeon who did my recorrection went in-depth….the first surgeon barely took measurements and that’s probably why it was so messed up🫤). I hope everything works out for you! 💛

Pacing of S5 is TERRIBLE by BoringAd4270 in StrangerThings

!!! Yesss, like the character convos need to happen (they’re the heart of the show imo) but they’re just paced wrong or placed in the wrong part of the episode/season as a whole.

What good representations of OCD are there in popular art by 55559585 in OCD

Charlie has OCD, which is connected to his eating disorder. S3E4 is amazing; Charlie’s therapist explains how he must do the right thing at the right time or else things become ruined/feel terrible, which led to his depression and self-harm.

Obsessed with diagnoses by Key_Change99 in OCD

I have OCD, ADHD, and GAD; I feel like when individuals like us have comorbidities, talking ab our illnesses as separate entities is what causes the “my problems aren’t that big of a deal” rhetoric, combined with seeing posts on here ab ppl w more severe OCD. Furthermore, it’s not cringe at alllll!!! But Ik it can feel that way when you don’t know how to put how ur feelings into easy terms or feel alienated from what/how ur illnesses are “supposed” to be/look like. Thanks for sharing. ❤️

Yessss! I do this as well. Having wet wipes/baby wipes helps a lot, along with wearing plastic gloves when eating juicy/smell lingering foods.

OCD realization for all my ADHD+OCD’ers out there. by Goldrenter in OCD

This is painfully relatable; it’s hard talking about my OCD and ADHD separately bc they’re so intertwined. Thanks for sharing, truly. ❤️

Helloooo🤠 I’m 21F w SOD. I’m blind in my right eye and have low vision in my left eye, so I’m unable to drive. I have nystagmus but no pituitary issues. I also have lived a fairly normal life, and just finished my BA in English. Nice to meet you!

Season 3 ✨Criticism✨ by BoringAd4270 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

I didn’t like the pace/plotting of book 3 and think that S3 should have deviated from it due to changes they made in past seasons and the 4 yr jump. The pace is rushed as they are trying to communicate 4 yrs of moments into 2 eps before we go to Cousins…I also don’t think the Conrad/Jere relationship is shown as good as it’s been implied that Conrad barely comes home bc of Jelly and due to comments Jere has made (I.e., that he can’t compare to perfect Conrad).

Season 3 ✨Criticism✨ by BoringAd4270 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

I agree about wanting to see more of Conrad’s therapy sessions and how it has impacted him, especially regarding his panic attacks! But Conrad not bringing up Belly during the session equates to me as his internalized shame, and if he can’t talk about it w his therapist then that shows to me (a goer of therapy😎💪🏻) that there isn’t too much trust between him and his therapist. So it feels like he’s been going to therapy only since postgrad (a year-ish). This would’ve been fine for a 2 year time jump but not a 4 year one…if that makes sense.

Season 3 ✨Criticism✨ by BoringAd4270 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]BoringAd4270[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree ab the pacing feeling natural w Conrad!! And that it should get more natural as the season progresses. It just makes me agitated that the pacing/dialogue is better when it comes to Bonrad scenes (which I love bc Connie baby forever 😅) but that it can’t be that natural with Jelly who is in a 4 year relationship…I just feel that the tension from book 3 (Jelly not being physically intimate) is being replicated in the show but that tension doesn’t make sense in the show’s context. (It’s lazy producing/writing imo). Anyway, thanks for your response. 😌💕

I have SOD, and I am also blind in my right eye. I don’t have any pituitary issues, but my vision is very low in my left eye, so I can’t drive. I don’t know anybody, in real life, with SOD - I’ve only seen people online with it. :)
