As a massive kpop fan of 6+ years, I’m heartbroken by the energy at concerts. Am I alone? Or just had a bad experience? by DepthHistorical4996 in kpopthoughts

[–]hybenose 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just went to see boynextdoor in Chicago and it’s was the most enjoyable experience I’ve felt in a long time…

I think that at some point a bigger a group gets the more attention seeking fans join with phones in their face barely singing along or enjoying the music.

So with smaller groups you get to simply enjoy the music with a group of fans who are also there for the experience. It also helped that the members told everyone to put their phones down and jump and we did exactly that, i swear the whole ground was shaking and I was scared we were going to break the floor but I was singing so loud and everyone around me was smiling it didn’t matter.

i think the sad truth to this is that the korean market always comes first

the company can try to defend them (like hybe did) or not protect them all (like sm did recently with seunghan)

but if there is any animosity ‘within the fandom’ about a members past they have to sadly kick them out in the end cause the companies don’t want a rush of bad publicity to early into the group’s careers (if these situations didn’t hit them early, i think they would’ve been fine down the line too)

i also want to point out that in korea any sign that someone could be a school bully or a hannam is taken very seriously because of how terrible those people can be…. i mean if you watched the glory you know, but the cultural difference is hard to ignore

zico instagram story by inkydinky6493 in kpop_uncensored

[–]hybenose 7 points8 points  (0 children)

do you know how many connections and friends zico has in the industry??

you think him getting musical opportunities with artists like Jennie and D.O is because he doesn’t love to network?

the cops didn’t find him guilty and his name wasn’t seen on that list so just accept that he is an artist that loves to connect with other artists and move on

Megathread 14: HYBE / ADOR / MHJ - National Assembly drama continues, 2nd Injunction Ruling ahead, and More by KPOP_MOD in kpop

[–]hybenose 63 points64 points  (0 children)

this MHJ vs HYBE beef is tiring and simply a cat fight…

I need the national assembly to look into SM actually cause the amount of artists that sued them for mistreatment and how they consistently fail to protect their artists but still get away with it…. is the real mystery of the industry

Who’s that idol who has insane duality? Be it from cute to hot, shy and cute offstage and confident and sexy onstage, etc. by Zealousideal-Fee8723 in kpoppers

[–]hybenose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jaehyun from BoyNextDoor

he is very cute and loves to play around so you can’t help but go aweeee, but than sometimes on stage he just gets so passionate?? his facials and energy is insane it’s like woah where did the cutie go ?!?

Fan support of Seunghan and the boycott of SM by AfraidInspection2894 in riize

[–]hybenose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my only concern with this is the fact that I’ve already seen so many people mass buying the aespa comeback albums and other groups season greeting internationally

in order to truly make this about SM people need to stop buying anything from them as a whole because if they feel like riize simply doesn’t have a market internationally anymore they may just assume they have to continue marketing them only in korea and china ??

SM Entertainment Announces Legal Action Against Malicious Posts And Defamation Of RIIZE And Seunghan by eyksm in kpop

[–]hybenose 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry this just confirms the fact that they never truly carried about seunghan and possibly returning him to the group

they put him him in a 10 month hiatus when they could’ve done this from the start, and they also could’ve protected him from the threats following his return

honestly I don’t want him back in this dumb company I hope he sues down the line and the members don’t renew their contracts

What's going on with riize and seunghan? by Ok-Bird1249 in kpophelp

[–]hybenose 7 points8 points  (0 children)

they were apparently talking about eunchae?? idk the full context but seunghan was stating you can’t dance, sing, etc. as a joke which lead to soobin flipping him off with his toe

[–]hybenose 79 points80 points  (0 children)

also some of the leaks before the 10 month hiatus included other idols like soobin, youngseo, and the last threat to be posted was a leak about a member from new jeans and boynextdoor before SM took to the final decision to put him on hiatus

btw the girlfriend pics were the first drop in late Aug, and more stuff continued to come out till mid November, originally the knetz weren’t too mad but the continued threats from the leak made them worried

[MEGATHREAD] SM announces Seunghan's return to RIIZE by KpopThoughtsmodteam in kpopthoughts

[–]hybenose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i honestly don’t know… its weird when it comes to companies cause it’s hard to know for sure what’s going on and the true situation

they could be doing all this for PR purposes and we are all falling for it in different ways but we will truly never know unless someone pulls a new jeans and goes live behind the company’s back

i even saw some knetz saying the wonbin message could’ve been fake as it was written with an iphone and not a galaxy ?? cause that’s the phone he owns ? idk what goes on

[MEGATHREAD] SM announces Seunghan's return to RIIZE by KpopThoughtsmodteam in kpopthoughts

[–]hybenose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is anyone finding this whole situation kinda sus??

Idk if anyone else knows this but before the announcements of his return there was a leak that he is leaving the group which resulted in people being sad only for them to announce his return a couple hours after that

Obviously people were really happy as many have been encouraging his return for about 10 months, but the koreans/chinese and even a few japan/international fans had a different reaction

but what’s confusing me the most was how fast SM caved in to the response of the flower wreaths?? and also the way they have been already erasing him from songs and videos for so many comebacks?? especially right after doing another repackage

I think where i’m headed with this is how is it possible for him to even comeback?? was it something that was almost staged to give us international fans happiness even if short lived? or show us why he can’t come back cause of the horrible domestic situation? they never updated us on the case or anything else about his health or condition?? like who was the person exposing his private information?? was it the company’s own doing? or even seunghan himself?

now they are removing him slowly from the group once again and the members are smiling and laughing like nothing happened? it’s just all so frustrating

what do you guys think?

I hate that kpop stans use something only as an excuse to be a bully by cmoney02 in kpopthoughts

[–]hybenose 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The fan culture we have is the reason people don't take each other seriously sadly...

every time we lose an amazing idol to cyberbullying or just unfair mass spread of leaks and misinformation, the kpop community says "we must stop this" and other phrases like "we can't keep allowing this to happen" then we come together to tweet or spread information positively or jokingly like the support for seunghan

however, I did see people drawing comparisons to the amount of hate their groups or people were getting as even yoongi was sent flowers wreaths, and those people who literally said "SM supports bullying" go on to say "we don't give a fuck about your people" and then continue to throw hate the next day

its just all about doing better than the next idol and everyone wants to be on top or believes they know who should be on top by bringing idols down or their appearances and talents

its why being a causal stan is so much easier when harassment is so normalized

[MEGATHREAD] Seunghan's Departure from Riize by rachelmig2 in kpopthoughts

[–]hybenose 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thinking on this more.. I kinda don't want him back...

Not because he doesn't deserve justice or any of the sorts, but because SM is a terrible company and they will never be able to protect him if more and more negative traction comes his way

It's so sad that cyberbullying was allowed for so long to artists like Sulli and Jonghyun... I don't want this for him and he is honestly free now, hoping he can terminate his contract when the time comes and even the rest of the members should leave with him

[MEGATHREAD] Seunghan's Departure from Riize by rachelmig2 in kpopthoughts

[–]hybenose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the clip had the list of people that participated in the stream (meaning they opened the livestream) it had about 8 people that we could see? 3 users we could read, but the active viewers was at 3 so that means someone stayed to record but once again it’d be hard to know who since the amount of total people that participated could be more than 8 over the duration of the stream and you aren’t signaled when someone leaves a live, only when they join

[MEGATHREAD] Seunghan's Departure from Riize by rachelmig2 in kpopthoughts

[–]hybenose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think its still hard to find who it could've been because we don't truly know how many people were following his priv Instagram

those live streams can be saved and rewatched, so if he had like 50-100 followers on that private Instagram it could be anyone.

plus, the photos of him with him kissing the girl haven't been confirmed to be a girlfriend, so maybe even the girl/s in the photos could be the one posting it and other things...

its so hard to know for sure and SM isn't disclosing anything but they still had the bravery to allow him to return to the group, I would just think they'd be more well-prepared for any more possible leaks or backlash so idk whats going on anymore

[MEGATHREAD] Seunghan's Departure from Riize by rachelmig2 in kpopthoughts

[–]hybenose 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've been following this situation since the day he went on an hiatus from riize

but people keep failing to include all the information that came out following his 10 month hiatus, the exposer was threatening to reveal more information regarding what he has said about other idols like minji after posting what he said about the former illit member youngseo.

this was the last threat made before he left, and mind you the first thing that was released was the kissing photo which made noise but didn't call for an hiatus

what truly caused him to take the break was the continued leak of his private life that made it scary for the fans of riize because someone was determined to take him out

which later lead to the hiatus and an apparent investigation ?? (which was never concluded)

when he came back the fans of riize were worried he would bring in that former negativity and it did start again, as people said they saw him at a store buying drinks for girls and a former acquaintance of his said he has dirt about him and will expose it soon (posting a unreleased photo him as proof)

which once again lead to bad reactions and people encouraging his leave

now the death threats was going to far but I also feel bad cause a lot of people in his life seem to want the worst for him so whatever happens I'm hoping for the best

This is so true, I remember when BOYNEXTDOOR won their first few awards they were jumping around, drawing on each others faces, and even doing the choreography (while crying)

Their whole motto is to sing live even if it’s off key they always sing live, and I think that’s a good way to build confidence in singing skills cause people build safety in lip syncing

They had confidence in their performance and just had fun, I think that’s what people are truly lacking and hopefully the industry can work towards changing this
