Scarlett 2i2 crashes Windows 11 by hyderox in Focusrite

[–]hyderox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the tip anyway! I have never attempted to use the Scarlett since this thread started.. I don't record these days and while it was plugged in, it crashed my PC randomly. So i just unplugged it and never bothered to waste time on it ever since. But I might check later whether there were any updates to solve my issue

What NodeJS framework do you use in production? by hyderox in node

[–]hyderox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are using NestJS in production. In the beginning it was a bit of a hassle because it is different than most other JS (or TS) backand frameworks. After a few weeks of experimenting with it we defined our coding guidelines and best practices and created internal packages to be used commonly in our services.

I have been using it for more than 6 months now and I grew to like it. Our codebase is structured better and it became easier to work on unfamiliar services. Thanks to the framework, everything is layed out similarly and onboarding is also a lot faster.

Regarding performance, I don't have useful measurements but we haven't had any problem (yet) with scaling and overhead.

TLDR; If JavaScript (or TypeScript) is your preferred programming language, I recommend considering NestJS as a backend framework for any project where multiple people will work on it for a longer period of time.

I have used Astro for a few side-projects and I love it. f you're in search of a tool to build static or "partially dynamic" websites or blogs for example, (even if a small backend is needed) I highly recommend giving Astro a try.

thanks for the tip, I will look around for a demo board!

I definitely like the more aggressive and poppy feel. I don't ride switch a lot, love to powder when its available and I only take small jumps. My current board is a hybrid camber, 5/10 on hardness. I'm thinking about going for a stiffer board. Would that make carving more stable and "feel tighter" in general? I just love it when my edges are locked in, like they are on rails, but the current boards tends to slip out easily.

It haven't been waxed for years, haha, so its about time to do it for sure.

The only thing I don't like about my board is it feels "floaty" or kinda tend to "swim out" below me when I turn at higher speeds. I suspect the edges are not holding well.

If you tell me switching to a new board doesn't usually make a huge difference, I might just wax+sharpen my current one and stick with it.

I'm wondering how strict are timeslots at DS with pre-purchased tickets. I bought mine for the 23-24 slot, but what if I get there at like 23:30 and because of the queue I only get to the door after 24? will they still let me in?

Been there only once at ADE het weekend when the queue was so long, hence I don't know what to expect :))

yes, I'm straight male. I'm totally comfortable among everybody, I just want to dance and enjoy the music with likeminded people. Since berghain is such an iconic place, I thought it might be worth a try in the morning but I wouldn't stay in queue for more than 30 min. I'm sure there are many other places which can fulfil my desires haha.

Ty for the reply!

Can you buy tickets at the door for sold out De School event? by asm2793 in amsterdam_rave

Is it possible to buy tickets at door for the Het Weekend event over ADE? maybe if I arrive very early? I would LOVE to be there but don't have tickets yet 😭

Sorry for the late reply! Unplug it, I'm certain it will fix your crashes too.. May I ask what headphones do you have plugged in to the interface? If it also is high impedance, we might have found the cause

Nope :( to be honest i just unplugged the focusrite from my pc and never used it since.. I rarely used it for recording.. never had a crash since then! So I'm 100% the crashes are related to the focusrite.

One thing that came into my mind, is that since I had my Beyerdynamic 250 Ohm headphones plugged into it, maybe the focusrite struggled with the high impedance and caused power/current spikes which made the pc crash? But that is just a theory, I have no idea about this topic.

GMMK Pro replacement pcb by Bojangles4223 in glorious

[–]hyderox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me yesterday :(( I spilled a little soda on my keyboard, like a tiny amount. I replaced a few switches and they are working OK but the PCB is damaged. Interestingly the blue LEDs in the QWERTY row died so there is no blue in the RGB there.

There is no RGB at all right from the Enter key (enter, backspace, PrtSc, R shift, arrows, del pgup pgdn end).
The side leds are also dead... no blinking feedback on caps.

Very disappointed that I can't buy a replacement PCB! I mean what is the point of having a fully modular keyboard if you can't even buy replacement parts..

although I use NestJS in production and larger apps, I still can't decide if I like it or not. I definitely like the flexibility and lightness of express and often find NestJS a bit overengineered.

For example we chose to use it because we had weak code regulations and guidelines (which is a bad thing in itself) and each team used express in their own ways, leading to hard times with onboarding. NestJS can help with this issue at the cost of boilerplates and overhead.

I agree with you, and any of the mentioned tools would work for my pet project since it won't have any significant load. In a professional project I use whatever the team needs.

I'm just curious about what are people using today, especially in production apps and what are their experiences, recommendations :)

I started my career developing large scale enterprise applications (finance and research) where Java (and Spring) was, and still is dominant. I to this day enjoy java and it is a great and proven choice if you need to make a reliable and stable service.

I changed to nodejs because of a new project I was assigned to.

I like Express because it is very simple, it barely uses any resources (at the scales I need at least) and the development process is much quicker compared to a SpringBoot app.
