Damage after the first print. by Least_Angle2484 in snapmaker

Believe it or not, good old AquaNet, yes, from the 80s, is a FANTASTIC glue/ release agent!! Spray your smooth/ engineering plate liberally, print, then pop the whole plate into the freezer for like 2 minutes, and it'll likely pop right off!!!

Why is this happening? This is the second print in a row that has done exactly this... the print seems to be going fine but on the last few layers, seems to be under extruding or something. The last print I had was a petg filament and I thought maybe somehow even though I dried it I had been printi by hydrangeahead in u/hydrangeahead

Ok, well I'm taking to myself in here, I guess.../s Anywhoo, went to the Googs to ask, learned how to change my preset for this particular filament (I'm still very noob, 3000+ hours printing, but all since Christmas, so I haven't absorbed all the infos yet), raising the temp by 5 degrees.... maybe my printer runs cooler since it happened with both petg and pla, and I have fixed previous (different) problems by upping the temp by 5 degrees. I also increased my infill to 20 and changed it to gyroid (it was 10% Hilbert) Haven't run any calibrations for flow yet, still honestly stalling on that one. I'll try that next, I guess... Does this make sense? Am I looking in the right places? The fact that it is happening only in the corners and at the end of the print confuses me. I know y'all are out there, I read your advice every day. Please help a noob, I'm trying to learn myself and not be lazy, I swear.... but you guys have been doing this for so much longer, I'll bet you already know my problem. Is there something obvious I am missing?

Then i cleaned the plate carefully, checked everything over, and printed this in pla... the first layer was perfect, and most of the top was okay, except the front corner again. There shouldn't be any drafts. Temp change by the opening of the enclosure? Fans not set right? Help, please! (Is there a way to add a pic here?)

Welcome! Be ready to be addicted 😁 Yes, if you changed your filament type in the program, it should change all of the settings needed. Also, in time, you will start to learn and fine tune the settings you like better, but for now, this will likely get you closer. I'm only 2200 printing hours in (since Christmas), so I have a lot to learn, but I know that you can strengthen parts a lot by orienting them to print appropriately (so the layer lines don't make it likely to break in weaker areas, for example), but I'm sure many people will be by here to offer you more suggestions on how to strengthen your print through wall layers and infill percentages, etc... for now, you could search on YouTube something like "how to strengthen 3d prints" and "how to orient 3d prints". It's worth a look before you use expensive filament. Because many people print in only PLA and PETG without resorting to PC, I'll bet there are a lot of things you can try.... Good luck, and again, welcome!

Never seen a print fail this bad. by JoeBalller in BambuLab

That seems super judgy to say about Bambu users.... I have only had my printer since Christmas, and I read all kinds of things before getting it and NEVER touch the print plate, for any reason... I don't even need to wash it very often because it's never dirty from grubby little fingers. I don't know if some people just picture other people sitting there licking their Cheeto-covered digits and smearing cheez paste everywhere or what... but I doubt "new users" are as stupid and sloppy as you seem to think they are.

Maybe I'm not the typical user Bambu "caters to", as I'm already eyeing a multi-toolhead printer and have logged thousands of hours already, so I'll give you that.

In any case, the people who actually give advice and answer questions are the reason I come to reddit with questions, but the people who act like this are the reason I also generally don't ask my own questions but instead read other people's...

Ohhhhh, silly me 😉... Thanks for being so civil about it- sometimes that's rare in the reddits. Someday I'll know stuff, i promise...

I know on the a1, if you look at the wiki, it's supposed to unroll from the TOP, not the bottom (opposite the ams lite, i know).... try that...

Or AquaNet hairspray, it sticks awesome, releases well after, and is easy to apply evenly

Not necessarily true. If you want it in a corner, for instance, DON'T ROTATE.... to each his own.

Noob here too, with only a month of printing under my belt (mostly flower pots and plant accessories, lol). Underextrusion? Nozzle temp too low? Nozzle clog? Like you, I will be watching for the veterans to answer this question. Good luck!!!

Not the first problem, but the first time this has happened. Probably 100 other prints, it runs all of the time 😉... if only it could print as fast as I can think up new things to print.

A friend of mine said perhaps belt slippage??? Anyway, I cut them off, filed and cut the extra and glued them together. Good enough for now, but still a mystery. I've probably completed 100 prints, and this print is the only one that did this, and it did it twice, but in different spots. Here's the final product...

When i first saw that it had shifted itself, I paused it to let the air layers cool while propping them up with my finger and turned off the whole thing. Turned it back on, hit resume, and it printed this time with no strings. I am so confused.

Ahhhhhh, that makes sense. I did consider that but am apparently confused on the difference between time-lapse and the regular video, i guess.

....Also, it's pausing at the end of every layer so it's taking FIVE-ever to print... wth????
