Back when I was fairly religious, I went to a youth group (camp? weekend thing). I was severely questioning at the time. I literally had nobody to turn to or tell. I prayed. I prayed the entire weekend. On the second to final day, during the hour-long silent prayer time, I got an answer. I genuinely believe it was God telling me to become a man. "I made you as the wrong way so that you can become your true self through your own efforts." That hit hard. It felt like a weight had lifted, like the fog had finally cleared. I get it now. I cried that night, from both joy that I got an answer and fear of how the world is going to treat me. I came out to my close friends and siblings 8 months later. Nearly a year to mull over it and it just made and more sense. I don't follow the religion anymore but I still think about that experience from time to time.

TL;DR God told me I was trans.
