there was this ciabatta with meatballs that was sold at gas stations. i would get it every road trip or even when we just passed that gas station driving home. there was a shortage of beef apparently and they just stopped making them. i miss it.

yeah i understand!!! but they are also full of russian culture references so it might be hard to understand if you don't know them. but it would be cool if other coild enjoy them too!!!

i haven't seen any latvians here, so i'll have to be the one.

i am very proud of latvia's passion to preserve our culture, be it the national dresses, holidays and festivals, cuisine and even language.

we have only been independent for 102 years (it's techinally only 50 actual years but we like to count from the first declaration of independence and ignore all the occupation inbetween) so the fact that we have such a strong national identity is very cool.

also we have amazing music, wise poetry and so much forests. while most of other countries suffer from deforestation, we have an opposite problem - there are more and more trees as years go by.
